Change of Diet??!

Question:

Change of Diet??

I have recently been at the doctor and basically I didn't realise how heavy I was. I've changed my diet and brisk walk an hr every day.

I have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast.
Soup for lunch
Salad for dinner with either tuna/chicken/salmon

I drink plenty of water, and drink green tea and chinese tea.

2 wks at this, I've given up alcohol. Haven't lost one lb.

What am I doing wrong??

Answers:

You are not eating enough and you have not checked your thyroid to see if it's functioning properly. Eating every 3-4 hours is mandatory when dieting. Think of your body as a furnace that burns calories. If you do not put enough calories in teh furnace the fire will go out and the metabolism will stop. Also, there is not enough protein in your diet for your body to try to convert. Protein is the hardest substance for your body to digest and also the most important. One gram per pound of body weight will do for starters. Check your thyroid and realize that if your temperature is down, by even half a degree, you are not burning properly. Increase your protein and fiber intake. Fiber is a wonder of nature that helps us lose fat faster. You may also want to start a weight training program that will help you built muscle as you are losing fat. Muscle is metabolicaly active and, unlike fat, requires calories to live. More calories burned even as you are sitting. Good luck to you.
