What do I need to do to lose weight?!


Question: What do I need to do to lose weight!?
I'm 13 and i suppose you could say i have a little extra baggage!. Has anyone got any advice on how i can lose weight quickly without fad dieting!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Burn more calories than you consume!. Just as simple as that!!

Ok, permanant weight loss is a lifestyle, not a diet!. Try some of these everyday for the rest of your life:

*Eat more fruit and veg!. The more colourful the better! However, be careful with eating a lot of fruit as it can be very high in sugar, which if isn't burned off, will turn to fat!.

*Exercise more!. Walk, run, swim, cycle, anything that takes your fancy!. Even simple stuff like walking home from school/work, getting off the bus 2 stops early!.!.!. Anything! Maybe start a hobby, martial arts, netball, football, hockey, archery!.!.!. Have a look at your local council website and it should have a list of all the sports organisations near you! (I do 2 martial arts and archery and I LOVE IT!!! I also want to start learning how to dive! Come on, you're 13 the sky's you limit!And besides, you start a sport as a hobby now, who knows we might see you at the 2012 games in London!!) Anything that gets you up and active and moving will be good for you! Maybe, if the weather's good, you and your friends walk to town rather than getting the bus!.!.!. When you're bored and there's nothing do to, go upstairs, close your curtains and put on some music and DANCE DANCE!! :-) If you have a nintendo WII or a Playstation 2 with the Eyetoy, get on the boxing on one of them, boy they knacker me out!!

*Try to eat less refined sugars and fats!. That means: cookies, crisps, chocolate, sweeties, cakes, buns, takeaways, fast food!. That food is junk with very little nutritional value!.

Food wise, maybe start experimenting more with your meals!. Try different things that may be healthier than what you usually have!. I remember at 13 I wouldn't try anything different, but as I got older I tried new things and now there are so many delicious things I love to eat, and most are dead healthy!!! But it's as simple as that, burn more calories than what your body needs/uses!. Aim to eat 1800 cals a day and exercise for at least 30minutes at a moderate pace (where you are just out of breath)!.

Just cut back on any junk you might eat, and exercise a little more!. You'll be fine I promise!! :-)

Instead of thinking about goin on a diet, think about CHANGING your diet, or more precisely, your eating habits!. listen to your body!. eat when you are hungry but stop right before you start feeling full, instead, stop when you are satisfied!. you'll find you will feel hungry sooner after than usual, but that's fine - eating smaller portions but regularly is muuuch healthier than larger meals few times a day - it keeps your metabolism churning throughout the day, virtually like a mini-workout!. drink plenty of water, too!. many people don't realise that when they think they are hungry, they are actually infact thirsty!. so when you feel hungry, have a glass of water to check that you are infact hungry, and not really just thirsty!. water also aids digestion so drink plenty of it (but be prepared to take a few extra visits the bathroom)!. water is amazing, trust me!. so yeah, eat less but more often - portion size maintainance is improtant!. when you eat, sip water between every few bites to help you eat slower - eating leisuringly is important as you give your body more time to register whether or not it is full!. lots of people eat too quickly and suddenly feel bloatedly-full ten minutes after their plate is clean (little did they know, half the bowl was sufficient)!.
you will probably find, that by following this, you will naturally lose weight without even trying, and probably even realise how much in the past you have overeaten!. you don't have to give up the foods you like, it's all about portion control!.
but please, remember this: you really are too young to be fretting over your weight and thinking about "weight loss"!. instead of thinking "i have to lose weight" think more along the lines of "i have to be healthier"!. maybe you're not eating the right kind of foods and maybe you're not really listening to your body!. food shouldn't be something you worry about - simply eat when you're hungry and stop before you're feeling too full, more when you feel satisfied and no longer hungry!. you might find you get hungrier sooner after but it is much better for your body to feed it food regularly and in smaller portions as opposed to lots in one go (imagine it being like homework, it's easier to do little pieces of homework in small sittings than the whole week's worth in one go) =]
when you get hungry, grab a piece of fruit instead of that chocolate bar!. sometimes an apple can cure a sugar fix better than a mars bar or snickers =] other than that, do not think too much about this!. you are young and still growing!. You are too young to worry about 'a little extra baggage'!. Your doctor would have commented if you were overweight!.
Just eat sensibly and take exercise - walk, swim, cycle, dance!.
Cut right down on crisps, sweets, fast food!. Cutting down doesn't mean cutting out, but don't eat them as a 'boredom' snack or to replace a balanced meal!.
Eat lots of fruit and veg, you will find your own level!.

exercise at least 3 times a week!. eat lots of veggies and fruits!. veggies are healthier because fruit has alot of sugar!. eat high protein, lean meats like chicken, turkey, and fish!. stay clear of carbs and trans fat!. don't drink soda or heavy juices!. drink loads of water!. stay away from fatty snacks!. after awhile if you stay away from the fatty food you love to eat, you wont crave them any more!. go to the mall with some friends for a couple hours, you'll walk alot and burn alot of calories!. good luck (:Www@Answer-Health@Com
