What are good things to eat to build your body so when u work out it helps build the muscle?

okay i got some good muscle in my arms but i am just a lil fat around the waist but not much. what are some good things to eat to lose the fat but build it in to muscle and get bigger?? and some good work out methods. i got a bench in my house and dumb bells that i use every day?? please leave tips and good ways?? thanks
