At 14 you need to be careful as your body is still going to grow and mature quite a bit and you do not want to harm yourself by excersizing too much, not eating enough etc!.
If you want to feel good and be able to do more pushups and feel stronger is get yourself on a daily program!. First off, make sure you are eating healthy amounts of food!. At least 3 or 4 meals a day with lots of variety (dont eat the same crap every day!)!.
Next, your muscles are not conditioned to do pushups so you feel like you cannot do many!. Start today and do 10!. Then tomorrow try 15, then the next day try 20!. Some days you will be able to do more and others you may only tie your best!. After a month you will be amazed at how much easier it gets as your muscles grow accustomed to the motion and they grow stronger!.
At 5'8'' and 142 lbs, you are probably just fine!. As you begin to work out more, you will probably notice your weight will rise a bit and then will start to go back down!. This is normal as muscle weighs more than fat so you will first go up, but then your body will burn more fat and you should go back down a bit!.
Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are still growing! Keep trying with the push ups, and it will work out!.
Your body has a way of reaching a balance between your height and your weight when you treat it right!. I watched it happen with my younger brother!
He used to be chubby!. And now he is taller, has more muscles and generally is a lot leaner!. Give it time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
