my daughter is 5'2, 140 pounds, 12 years old. what is a good way for her to lose weight. i need certian foods or excercices please!!!!!!!

Answers:

Is she involved in any activities already? If not, enroll her in something that sparks her interests. You are only limited by what's offered in your city. Examples: swimming at the local Y, gymnastics, tae kwon do, dance, softball, yoga, you get the idea.

If you can't financially enroll her in anything, then get active with her. Go outside and play frisbee, invest in a trampoline, volunteer to walk dogs at the local animal shelter, make it a point to dance to her kind of music every evening for at least 30 minutes, anything to get moving.

As for food, here are the basics:
1. Drink lots of water. NO SODA or koolaid.
2. Stay away from all things fried.
3. Encourage as many fruits and veggies as she can handle.
4. Limit sugary snacks to one or less per day.
5. Did I mention drinking water?
6. At her age, she still needs protein and calcium to grow, so chicken, turkey, 1% milk and eggs are good choices.
7. Yogurt is awesome for girls, and helps with fat loss.

And really, 140 lbs at 5' 2" isn't that bad. Just get active with her. Good luck, and I hope this helps.
