You should actually have a slow-digesting protein right before you go to bed, not one hour before!. I wouldn't really trust that shake to last you the night, if I were you, I would go buy a bottle of Casein protein for the nighttime!.

If you don't have any Casein you can have a cup of cottage cheese or 4 cups of milk instead, since those are full of Casein, especially cottage cheese!. I hate cottage cheese though, you might like it!.

If you have nothing else then the shake should last you a decent amount of time, milk will definitely slow down the absorption, and I heard fats slow down digestion too, I'm not sure about that though, I'll have to check on that!.

Edit: Yes, right before you go to bed, or close to before you go to bed!. Try and get the milk before bed if you can't get Casein, otherwise, I think the shake should be fairly effective!. I know what you mean, my mom doesn't want to buy me supplements either!.

Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not good to have any meal at all just before bed!. This is not good for your digestive system!. Your whole body tends to want to relax while your sleeping!. Also some hormonal changes take place while you sleep!.

You need to ensure that whatever you eat is well digested before you go to sleep!. Different foods digest at different rates and so it is good to allow at least 3 hours after your last meal before you go to sleep!.

Simply put: while you're awake the material is gathered and prepared (consumption, digestion, absorption and storage of food)!. As you sleep repairs are done (Utilization)!.

If you notice that many persons with fat (size) problem are persons who eat shortly before going to sleep!.

Here's an idea:
Of nutritious foods that you do not like, mix them with foods that you do like!. A small portion of what you do not like with a larger portion of what you do like!. Eventually you'll develop a taste for those disliked foods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

whey is absorbed in the body very quickly but if you have casein protein put into the body, it will be slowly digested into the body, best when going to bed!. but if you cant get a hold of casein protein having what you mention will be a good idea, either right before bed or very shortly before bed, help keeps the body moving and not attack those muscle cells you work so hard for!.!.!.hope that helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Eating before bed is a big no-no!. sleep is a time for your body to rest and regenerate, not have to work at digesting a meal!.!.!.and that drink is a meal with all those ingredients! I once saw a group of Sumo wrestlers and they were asked "How do you maintain that high weight!?"
They said that the "secret" was eating right before bed and that if they ate the same amount of food during the day they would lose!.
That stopped my late night binging cold!
Of course when you are young you may get away with it but i would not eat for a t least 2 hours before bed af not longer!Www@Answer-Health@Com
