Fourteen is probably too young to be lifting weights that way!. You should be doing lower weights at higher reps to help your muscles elongate!. But, to answer your specific question, a male who can press at least his own body weight is doing OK (most cannot)!. Push-ups will help increase your ability to bench press!. After your press workout do 50 push-ups (they don't have to be 50 in one set) but within about 5 minutes!.

The real question for you to answer is why are bench pressing!? Unless you are playing, and indeed to keep playing, a sport that requires strength (power) as opposed to endurance, the bench press is basically a useless exercise!. Push-ups are far better combined with pull-ups/chin-ups!. In everyday life we have to push and pull our own body weight, rarely do we have to press our weight!. Sure, pressing large amounts of weight looks good in the weight room and gives us bragging rights!.!.!.but looks and bragging become less and less important as you get older!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thats pretty awesome, especially for your age!. When I was 24 I was benching 375, and I weighed around 200 pounds!. I started benching when I weight 160, and I only started at 75 pounds!. Just keep on it if you want to hit some holy crap weight, I took a break after hitting 375 and never have been close to that since!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dam thats great, but dont forget to work your back & traps or you will get a sunken chest Www@Answer-Health@Com
