How much protein per day?!

Question: How much protein per day!?
Some people say 1 gram per pound of body weight, others say that would cause kidney problems and it should be like 50-60g per day!.

I'm 16, 5'9, 140, do cardio/basketball, but don't lift!. I've been eating like 100-120g/day for a while, is it gonna hurt me later if I keep it up!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It isn't too much protein that causes kidney problems, it's too little carbs!.

If you don't lift you don't need "excessive" ammounts!. But you are doing athletics, and you don't weigh much, so I would say where you are is just fine!. A gram a pound for someone who doesn't lift is considered very good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no proper scientific evidence that backs up that theory!.

1g per pound of body is absolutely fine!. You only need to boost it up if you are lifting and either building muscle or cutting body fat!.

Do not worry at all!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your fine!. My friend says so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
