Question: School Starting Tomorrow-- Extremely Nervous!?
School is starting again tomorrow, and i will be a junior in high school!. I am feeling extremely nervous this year, more than i ever have before!. I mostly fear the people!. My school is big, and there are a lot of people there!. I get soooo nervous and intimidated when i am around other people!. Sometimes i even get this "hazy feeling" in my head, like i feel like im not with it!. I'm not sure if this means i have some sort of social phobia or anxiety!. I am so self-conscious and don't think i am pretty at all, and i have a hard time talking to people!. I only have a few friends and none of them are in my classes (except lunch- i am thankful for that)!. But it's also hard because i am a recovering anorexic, and i am afraid of people making comments or thinking things about me!. To make matters worse, i don't know where any of my classes are, and the school is huge!. What can i do to calm down!? I'm so nervous i feel like throwing up right now!. Please help!

Anxiety is a normal emotion!. First take time and breathe!. You breathing yet!? People can say what they want about you but I bet nobody has the balls to say it to your face! People are gonna say stuff about you until the day you die, and sometimes even after that so get used to it!. That's great you are winning your battle against your eating disorder!. That takes confidence to change your own image about yourself!. Keep it up, and tell yourself that you are the flyyest thing walking!. Wear clothes that make you feel good, wear your favorite hairstyle, make a playlist on your ipod of all your favorite feel good songs!. Do whatever it takes! I too get anxiety around a lot of people so don't think you're alone!. Try to remember the outfits of 10 people in your school from the day before!. Chances are you can't!. Just like you weren't paying that much attention to them, the world isn't staring at you! Those people are going about their business which is what you need to do!. Don't know if you are spiritual, but God doesn't make mistakes!. He made you in his image so you are beautiful! You are simply stunning my dear!

I call myself Flyy because that transcends beauty, it's a state of mind!. Adapt it!. You could be ******** with one tooth and still be flyy if you carry yourself that way!. Talking to people is as simple as just saying hello or waving!. Challenge yourself to say hi or smile at someone new everyday!. It may seem weird at first, but you'll get used to it!. don't sweat it!. it's no biggy, just do your thing and everything will be okay!. after high school, you will look back and laugh lol!. who else knows that you are a "recovering" anorexic!? just stick and hang close with your friends!. and if someone does make a comment, don't let it get to you, just look at those words as if they're just sounds coming out of peoples mouths lol!. because the truth is, you are stronger than all of them, going through what you've been trhough, only makes you stronger!. good luck this year! Don't let anyone or anything bring you down!. Look at yourself in the mirror and say with confidence that you are your own person and no one can say that!. Before long, your confidence will be seen by other people and they will accept you more!.

Deep down many people have similar thoughts on the first day!. Just take a deep breath and appear confident, try not to be shy, whats the worst that can happen when you talk to the person next to you!?!? don't worry, within a few days/weeks you'll fall into a routine and forget about being nervous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Relax!. Breathe in from your nose and out of your mouth!. School will be fine, I promise!.

Don't worry about what all the other people think, all that matters is you, your family, and your friends!.

Don't worry about having a hard time finding your classes!. Teachers usually understand this and don't do anything if you are late the first few times!.

Right now you sound very afraid!. Like, the only thing bothering you is the fear of not fitting in!. If you find something good to look forward to, something that would keep your mind off of those nervous thoughts, then you should be fine!. Also, remember, it's not like you're new to school!. Just be yourself, and you'll get used to the way things get!. And for the anorexia, just don't make it seem like that would affect your life!. If you make it a big deal with everyone (like constantly hiding) they'll also make it a big deal!. But, if you just go on like nothing has happened, and that being an anorexic in the past doesn't effect you at all, people will get used to your attitude; and they'll too go on with it, and they'll forget!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

schools starting tomorrow for me too!. and im facing almost the same situation as u!. im also very skinny but not anorexic!. i think thats very wonderful that ur recovering from it!. dont worry about ppl talking about u!. just that wen its lunch!.!.!.eat! eat a big tasty hamburger or something!. and the school is big, so wat!? that means that theres a less chace that ppl will b thinking about how u look because theres many other ppl there for them to judge!. Hun, I too had an eating disorder in highschool and always was paranoid and hurt about other peoples comments!. Do your best to try to ignore them!. I know its much easier said than done!. Its almost impossible to completely ignore everyone and do your own thing!. I would suggest wearing clothes that make you look good and doing your hair to show YOURSELF (not really others) that you are a beautiful person!. When you have confidence in yourself, others will see it! Dont go around school being nervous and scared!. You will make lots more friends being outgoing and confident!.

I just started my senior year of college today and realized that confidence made me an extremely popular person now!. I used to be an outcast in highschool because I tried too hard to fit in!. listen, i suffer from depression, anxiety, and insomnia, so i kind of know how you feel!. i know these things sound stupid, but please, do some of them! i think the only thing that will make you feel better is relaxation, considering there's no prep you can do for the first day of school at this point!.

-soak in the tub with relaxing bath salts, or something like that
-make yourself smell really good (lotions, etc!.)
-listen to soft, relaxing music
-get in your pajamas
-if you have access to it, smell as much lavender as possible (it really helps!)
-take deep breaths
-do something with someone you love and who makes you laugh

i'm positive you're beautiful!. don't put yourself down! if you love yourself, more people will love you!. don't try too too hard to make friendships; they should come naturally!

um i used to be very very quiet!.!. and ugly!.!. hehe!.!. i got a new hair cut!.!. that helped!.!. and i started to lose blemishes!. i washed my face a lot!.!.!. and now i have a lot more confidence at school!.!. i totally recommend a new haircut!.!. i hate acting!.!. and i accidentally signed up for drama!.!.!. and i'm a great actress!! it helps just to get up in front of people and be fcking stupid!.!. it may make your face tomato red at first but youll get used to the attention!.!. trying to help!.!. hehe!.!. I'm starting at a new school tomorrow and I'm a senior and I'm REALLY SCARED too!. I know that this isn't really helping but I just want you to know that you're not the only one going through this!.

you might have an anxiety disorder (although I'm not doctor so I can't diagnose it), and I have one too and it doesn't help with things like this because my fear is pretty much heightened compared to the normal person's!. My mom said I have to try this school out for a week and if I don't like it then I don't have to do it!.

I'm just really worried about meeting people!. I have to walk up the huge steps and then find my classroom (it's a small alternative school)!.

I really hope everything works out, but just be glad that you have friends! I don't know anyone where i'm going!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had my first day of high school today, and I was completely freaked out in the few days before it !.!. but it's nothing to worry about ! If it's a new school, you don't need to worry about getting lost because even if you do, just ask someone who looks friendly for directions, most schools give out maps to new students or they make you stay with your homeroom teacher for the first bit!. Whatever happens, it's nothing to worry about ! My first day back went great, and I have a bit of social anxiety disorder (by the sounds of it so do you)!.

That "hazy feeling" is just lightheaded-ness or do you feel as if you aren't IN your body but you're still controlling it !? That happens to everyone, and all you have to do is relax and (i know !.!. cheesy) 'go with the flow' !. It seriously works !

Just relax, I mean, whats the REALISTIC worst that could happen !?

The main thing is to relax, and go with it, it worked for me!

and the whole recovering anorexic thing, people might look at you and be like "omg, she's anorexic!. what's she THINKING!!?!!? that's SOO stupid!!!!!!!!" but I doubt anyone will say that to your face er anything, and people will think what they believe no matter what you say or do!.

I had NO friends in my class last year, but I just took a look around the people in the class and was like "hey, there's some kids over there that I kinda want to be friends with !.!. why don't I go try talking to them !?" and I just went over at break and asked them how there summer went and everything and that went over great!. Just sit beside people that you wanna be friends with, talk to them, and just be really happy when you're interacting with them cuz then they'll want to be friends with you as well!. Once again, it worked for me =)

Main parts to remember:
1!. RELAX ! nothing as bad as you're thinking could happen unless some strange other-worldy curse has been placed specifically on you to make your teenage life miserable!. (BTW, that's less than impossible)

2!. Laugh it off ! if anything embarrasing (i!.e!. lost, fall) just laugh it off and act cool, calm, and collected even if you're screaming on the inside!.

3!. DON'T WORRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

remember all that and you'll do FINE!!!

Well, when I first entered high school, I felt the same way too!. Then I realized that I'm not the only one who is nervous, and that there are many other people who are as nervous as I was, or even more nervous!. Just smile and say hi to people that look friendly, ask for help from a classmate (which can get you to meet that person), and smile a lot!. Evenutally, people will come to you, and you'll make friends! At lunch, go up to a group of people who look nice, and ask if you can sit with them!
