What do I have to do to get started?!


Question: What do I have to do to get started!?
I want to start running daily but I have never really done it before!.!.!.!.how do I get started!? Do I just run one day and see how far I can get!? Or do I need to be in better shape than I am!? I currently walk for about an hour a dayWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you are wanting to start running and have been walking for an hour now!.!. increase the speed you are walking a little every couple of days and eventually you will be running!.!. It will happen before you know it!.!. Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I actually have a fabulous program I used when I started running!. This is a program I used to get in cardiovascular shape for the Marine Corps!. It's a regimen that they give to Marine officer hopefuls!. It's essentially the same, maybe a couple days are out of order!.!.!.the key is to do them back-to-back in whatever order you choose, as long as you get all of them in!. Don't forget your rest day!


Day 1: Timed run!. Run 1!.5 to 3 miles as fast as you can!. Write down this time and try to beat it next time!.

Day 2: Sprint intervals!. Jog for 2 minutes, then sprint as fast as you can for 200-400 meters!. Repeat for 1!.5 to 3 miles!. Yes, you'll get slower as you're doing this, but the important thing is to give 100% each time you do a sprint!.

Day 3: Endurance run!. Pick a difficult but maintainable pace and run 4 to 6 miles!.

Day 4: Hill sprints!. Sprint uphill 200-400 meters, jog back down, rest 1 minute!. Do this for a total of 10 times!.

Day 5: Rest!.


Start this over!. The variety will make it less boring for sure!

Brisk walking for an hour is good enough!. It gives you better cardiovascular benefits than running!. If you still decide to run, start with a short time, may be 10 min!. at start and gradually increase it!. Never try to run as much as you can on very first day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Start by doing intervals!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Speed walk 5 min, then jog for 5-10 min, speed walk again for five min, then jog again for 10-15!.!.!. try this until you don't need to speed walk!.!.!.!.!. then do intervals at different jogging paces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
