Atkins:A few questions?!


Question: Atkins:A few questions!?
Is it possible to go on the Atkins diet temporarily,then go straight to a low calorie diet in order to maintain the weight loss!? or does all the weight come right back on after you quit the Atkins!? (thats sorta like saying our bodies defy the laws of science,eating enough calories to maintain your weight,yet you GAIN weight !?!?!?) how does this work!.!.!.also i know the Atkins diet isnt healthy!.!.i'm just curious about this!.!.thanks for any insight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes is possible, and people do that, im pretty sure south beach diets calls for 2 weeks no carbs then the rest of the plan is a calorie restriction with some carbs!.

Ok, now about your "weight" coming back!.!.!.
There's a difference between weight and fat!. when u don't eat carbs your body holds way LESS water and makes you appear thinner!. BUT once you go back to eating carbs(and u will) your body will go back to normal and the number on the scale will be higher because of water retention NOT fat gain!.

I'm not saying Atkins doesn't work!.!.but its kind of impractical for a person that doesn't compete in muscle man comps!. Its great for the short term!. but long term carb restriction will leave u lethargic(less willing to workout) and str8 up balls crazy!. its better to just find out how much ur supposed to eat for your weight/age/activity level, and subtract 500 calories from it!. Your body goes into a special mode while on atkins that doesnt allow you to process carbohydrates when you reintroduce them, so yes as crazy as it sounds you will gain weight (mostly water) when you go to a diff diet,even low cal, including carbs!. A good diet that limits carbs but is healthy and easy to stick to is the South Beach diet!. Plus the SB diet allows you to have cheat days without sabatoging the whole thing!. I have personally tried the South Beach diet only because of the health benefits and ended up losing 5 lbs and having a lot more ab definition!. I hope this helps! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do not go on the Atkins diet because carbohydrates are the main source of energy in the body and when you deplete your body of them your body will start eating away at your muscle!. You will lose wieght but it will be muscle and that is unhealthy!. And you cant eat protein to make up for the muscle loss!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I tried the atkins for the 2 weeks of induction and started feeling sick from all of the beef and heavy food!. And you know something else i gained 3 pounds!!!!! Don't do the Atkins, instead try the South Beach, because after the first two weeks it is more like a low calorie diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
