Is this a good work out ? ?!

Question: Is this a good work out !? !?
Military press!.!.!.

I start off with 20 lb dumbells + bar weight 2 or 3 lbs!. I do these for as many reps as i can, around 8 - 10!. I do this twice, and once more for 3 - 5 reps as many as I can do!.

Then!.!.!. I move on to my barbell, which is roughly 20 lbs with the bar!. And i keep working until my muscles are burning, and once I cant go up any more, i go up half way and hold it and feel the burn as long as I can, and I hold it once, twice!. I wait a while!. And i go back do 2 more reps and hold the burn again a couple times!.

Is there anything wrong about this!? Any comments!?

PS!. Im fairly scronny and just started working out!.

Well first off you shouldn't do static lifting!. That's where you lift a weight and hold it for a while!. That takes blood away from your muscles and is kind of counterproductive!. Military press is great, but you shouldn't stick to it exclusively!. Incline bench works your arms and the tops of your pectorals, standard bench works nearly all of your pecs, and declined bench works the bottom of your pecs and gives you that cut look!. Work in all three lifts to your workout, a few sets of each, and you will see results a lot quicker!. Keep the lifting dynamic, which means to always be moving the weight, don't just hold the weight up for a long period of time, it's bad on your muscles!. I assume you are doing other weight training excersises for your arms and shoulders, and you are doing cardio as well!.

High reps, such as 8-10 are good for getting toned, but bad for building muscle!. If you want to bulk up you will need to up the weight and lower your reps!. Five reps is good, and you should have to struggle with your last rep or you need to up the weight even more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

continue with seated(safer) and use the dumbells only, using the barbell runs the risk of damaging the rotator cuff or something like that(part of your shoulder)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just dont strain or push yourself over your limit too much

by the way, you will be very short if you keep doing that, because it stunts your growth, so if u already happy with your height, then it doesnt matterWww@Answer-Health@Com

run 20 minutes straight but other than that!.!.!.you are goodWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hey Big Cheif,

Here is the work out I started off with!. I always like to keep things as simple as possible, if it ain't broke then don't try to fix it!. It looks like you are trying to work on your chest, so if I was trying to do the same thing, here are the exact steps that I would do!.

1!.) I would take a protein shake thirty minutes before I workout!. You need feed your muscle to make them grow!. I'm sure you are lifting because you want to get bigger!. This is very important that you do this!.

2!.) The First Chest exercise I would start with are inclined bench presses!. If you do not know what this is, look it up on you tube!.
I would do three sets of 8!. You want to make sure that you are resting
2 minutes between sets!.

2!.) The next exercise I would do would be flat bench presses!. Once again, I would look it up on youtube if you don't know what they look like!. Do Three sets of 8!. Rest 2 minute in between sets

3!.) My last exercise would be dumbbell flies!.(youtube it) ;0)
Do Three sets of 8!. Rest 2 minutes and this would be the end of your chest work out for the day

4!.) after workout, drink a sprite or a coke, this helps repairs the muscles and makes them bigger, wait ten or twenty minutes and drink a protein shake!. Hope this helps!.

To Your Results,

Nothing wrong with it per se, but how's the rest of your workout!?

I am a fan of total body workouts, and I've used them almost exclusively for the last 3 years with great results!. If you're just a beginner at weights, then stick to 3 sets of 10 to 12!. Continue to do the basic exercises for at least one year!. You need to get all the basics right!. Form is EVERYTHING when lifting!. Pay close attention to your form!. After a year or 2 of good, hard, heavy lifting, then you're ready to try the more advanced stuff!.

It takes a while to build muscle!. Any one who's got a good muscular physique has spent YEARS building it up!. Be patient and keep working hard!. It'll happen in due time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it depends on what your trying to do!. If you want to bulk up you want to do heavy weights with less reps!. If you want a total body work out your definetly going to need to add some more work outs other than curls and millitary press!.
You will need to bench press, Butterfly press, lunges, cav raises, shoulder shrugs, reverse curls, tri extensions, squats, leg curls and so forth!.
A big unknown is that people just work their upper bodies but they dont realize that when you work out your legs you release alot more testosterone and your body gets stronger and recovers alot quicker!.

check out some work outs online!. There are some really good sites to help you get started!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
