Question: Is it possible to have a nicely toned body without looking like a weightlifter!?
I play sports, but I'd like to become more fit (not lose weight)!. How do you gain muscle and tone/taut your body without looking like Superman or a wrestler/weightlifter!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a nicely toned body and I don't look like a weight lifter!. Of course, if my wife finds out about the nicely toned body I keep on the side, she will divorce me and take everything I have!. Yes!. To answer your question!. If you want to lift weights with a machine or free weights, do lots of reps for each exercise!. If you do try to lift fewer reps and lift close to your maximum you may become bulkier than you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well that's simple (:

just don't lift anything too heavy

do endurance training (with weights) and that will tone your body well

there's always crunches, side crunches, leg raises, roman chairs, squats, frog squats, and pushups for you to try as well, these won't really buff you up =]

oh and btw when your lifting you want to lift the weight 8 - 12 times if you want to gain some muscle (but not too much)

and u do know that when i say 8 - 12 i mean by the time you hit 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 your on the verge of giving out!?

Start martial arts!. Worked wonders for me!. And btw, unless you spend hours in the gym lifting weights there is very very little chance you will look like one of those bulky body builders!. Female body builders spend years and hours a day eating to get to that point while downing protein shakes and stuff!.!. Don't worry about it and start any activity that you enjoy but I recommend martial arts or swimming:) I am biased!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the best way to get toned without getting too much bulk is to concentrate on repetitions with moderate weight!. Bulking up is accomplished by increasing the weight and doing less repetitions!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah run every day and do sit-ups but never lift weights they are a waist of money do the old fashion exercises like holding up your body with your arms and going up and down!!

don't use heavy weights!. use lighter weights for lots of reps and also swimming and pilates lengthens muscles rather than bunches them up to make you look bulky!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
