Hamstring Issues.....?!

Question: Hamstring Issues!.!.!.!.!.!?
I pulled my left hamstring over 11 years ago and it was agonizing!. Recovery took longer than I expected, but I've been fine ever since until I started running again a few months ago!. The problem I'm having is after a run, I cool down and stretch, but I cramp badly several hours after the run!. If I run in the evening and go to bed I'm often woken up with my hamstring cramping so bad if feels like it will detach itself from my body!.!.!.!.sounds funny I know, but it's a serious problem!. I don't think it's fluid intake issues because that's the only area I have a problem!. Anyone with suggestions to prevent this or even minimize it!? Your help is much appreciated!. Answers:
Your initial injury may have shortened your hamstring!. To fix it try stretching every chance you get!. Before and after running, in the morning, before bed, in the afternoon!. Try active isolated stretching techniques and yoga too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you search leg cramp you will get tons of info:

Maybe it's due to low mineral levels!.

Well medically speaking, yours sound more of a,Grade 2,which is when the hamstring is strain, there is immediate pain which is more severe than the pain of a grade one injury!. It is confirmed by pain on stretch and contraction of the muscle!.
or
A Grade 3:is a severe injury!. There is an immediate burning or stabbing pain unable to walk without pain!. The muscle is completely torn and there may be a large lump of muscle tissue above a depression where the tear is!. After a few days with grade two and three injuries a large bruise may appear below the injury site caused by the bleeding within the tissues!.!.!.Which ever these two you feel your pain is closer to I would suggest you go to an sports medicine physician,to have that checked to ensure that your muscles are ok,or if you need any further treatment for your problem!. I hope you feel better,James!.!.: )Www@Answer-Health@Com
