Assist for Barbell squats?!

Question: Assist for Barbell squats!?
I have been going to the gym for a few months now and use a pretty normal combo of free weights and machines!. My problem is on barbell squats, the bar seems to dig into my neck and I've tried warpping with a towel and it doesn't help!. Is there any kind of device that props on a person's shoulders and helps to distribute the weight across the shoulders instead of on the back of the neck!?

Thanks for any help or websites that sell something like thisWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The problem is you don't have the bar low enough!. It shouldn't be on the back of your neck like that!. It'll take a little time but you'll get use to the bar placement being lower than that!. Trust me it is a lot more comfortable!.

But if you don't want to listen to me you can go buy this:

Well first off you can use an actual squat pad!. It should be on the bar in the gym or close to the squat rack anyway!. If that is not comfortable then you can look around and sporting good stores for this device called the Manta Ray!. There are 2 versions of this and they are both hard plastics with grooves to snap onto the bar!. It will either be one piece that rests on your back or the 2 piece that rests on each shoulder!. They are pretty good but I've found I prefer the squat pad because it's more comfortable to me!. Also try moving the bar down to rest on the top your back not directly on the back of your neck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could use the smith machine!. it's an assisted squat that will stabilize the bar for you!. i like it better than straight barbell squats!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
