Question: How does my meals for today sound !? i'm on a diet!?
im a 18 year old male


i cut one slice of bread in half and had a little peanut butter and jelly sandwhich

a little chicken thigh skinless and baked with a 1/2 cup of string beans
and a 1/2 cup of rice

1 cup of cereal with 1 cup of whole milk

and another 1 cup of cereal with 1 cup of whole milk

i had whole milk because thats what my mom brought

and for dinner i think i might have a salad

i drink water and maybe a cup of fruit juice just for dinnerWww@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with Quintis19!. Your diet is OK but could be better!. Milk has been a quite controversial subject in the health industry in recent years with a number of high profile studies supporting milk consumption and further high profile studies discouraging milk consumption!. My opinion is that milk is OK but you should try to stick with one or two glasses per day, so I think your daily consumption is OK but you should not have any more than you currently are!.

As for the other areas of your diet, try and get wholemeal or wholewheat bread where possible!. Brown breads are generally higher in fibre and lower in sugars than white breads which means they are usually more filling, more nutritious and lower in calories!.

As for the peanut butter and jelly perhaps make this just peanut butter (at least some of the time) and substitute the jelly for real fruit!. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and healthy fats!. However, jelly (or jam as we call it over here in the UK) is often a less nutritious choice when compared with the real fruit alternative not to mention that it is usually richer in sugar!.

Also for your dinner try and make sure your salad contains some protein (eggs, meats or fish would provide this) and some healthy fats too (a few nuts or some olive oil would provide this)!.

Apart from that your diet sounds pretty good!. My only concern is that you are perhaps eating too little!. Everyone has a different metabolic rate so if this diet works for you without you losing too much weight then go for it!. However, if you start losing an unhealthy amount of weight start eating a little more of the same types of food!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I sound okay, only you need more veggies than just a salad!. And you need more fruit!. Eat more fruit and veggies throughout the day!. Try not to drink that much milk too!. Its okay, but try not to drink too much!. Everything else look fine!. Hope I helped~Www@Answer-Health@Com
