Question: Help! I have gained 40 lbs in only one year living with my fiance! How do I make it stop!!?
Help! I was always a size 5/6 until I met my now Fiance!. I then "chunked up" to a size 7/8 and stayed that size for about a year!.
A Year ago we moved into together and I am now in a 15/16 sometimes even 18s!
I am mortified and embarrassed! I don't know how it got so out of control in such a short period of time! I never ate much (or often) at all before, but now I eat three meals a day!. I thought that was supposed to be healthy!
How can I lose the weight and stop myself from putting it back on, but still feed my fiance what he needs!? Help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You sound just like me! I gained 60 pounds in one year! I just talked to my fiance and told him I'd like to start being healthier!. We ate out a lot!. Now, we don't eat out as often and I cook healthy things for dinner!. They can still taste good at the same time as being healthy! One of the websites I go to all the time to get recipes from is www!.hungry-girl!.com!. It has awesome recipes that are really actually good!. My fiance doesn't even notice the difference!! Good luck, I hope this helps! Also, I started doing sit ups or push ups during commercial breaks when I am watching TV!. Another great way to exercise is when your fiance is at work or somewhere and you're home alone, turn some music on really loud and clean the house!. I always start dancing around and singing, which is why it's better to do it when no one else is home lol!. I am also very short, so I know exactly how you feel!Www@Answer-Health@Com

How active are you during the day!? Do you spend a lot of time just lounging around with your fiance when usually you'd be out and about!? You've increased your calorie intake, but it could be that you're not as active as you used to be!. Eating three meals a day is healthy, but you need to consider the size of the portions, and you need to keep active!. If you two enjoy spending time with each other, go for a walk instead of sitting at the TV, for example!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to a fitness center and get an evaluation for an exercise program!. then go to a board certified, not someone on an tv ad, nutritionist and find out what nutrients you need and how to get them on a low calorie weight losing diet!. don't worry about your fiance , worry about yourself if he doesn't want to eat what you fix then let him fix something for himself!. obesity is the number one cause of health problems in the U!.S!.!. Get your weight down while you are still young and before you get into some serious health assuresWww@Answer-Health@Com

Start counting your calories of what you eat and drink!. You should limit yourself to 1200 calories to 1800Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think everybody is overlooking your real question, you feel he made you gain weight, am I right!? Lol, I understand what you mean, I was terrified when I first started dating my now-husband, because he (like most men) pressures me to eat more than I want!. Even worse, he hates to eat alone, so in the beginning, I had to eat, if only a little bit, so that he would eat when he was hungry, otherwise he wouldn't eat!. That has changed now, because I made him understand that women are like little mini coopers, and men are like hummers!. They need a lot more food than we need!. Most people don't realize that!. Yeah, it sucks, but it's the truth!. So you have to be really conscious of how much you're eating!. You can still enjoy the same things together, just eat a lot less than him!. For example, my husband buys an ice cream cone, I take a couple of licks from it, and we both have a treat!. When we order chinese takeout, which is often, we get the same thing, and then I devide the portion up so I get maybe a third, which is more than enough, and he gets the rest!. You just have to remember that if you eat as much as him, you will gain and keep gaining weight, and he will stay the same!. You simply need less food!. If he is inactive, that can be a problem too!. Yall probably spend a LOT of time in front of the tv, don't you!? If he doesn't like to be active and get outside, you could just cut the tv off and reconnect!. Sex burns lots of calories, lol!. You're going to have to be the one to instigate the changes, though!. Sometimes men are just thick headed and don't really notice things!. Of course he's not going to say to you, "Babe, we need to do something about your weight, it's really getting out of hand!." Unless he's crazy, or a jerk!. So you have to take the initiative!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there,

It sounds like your metabolism (the number of calories your body requires to maintain your current weight) has adjusted to what you were eating before meeting your fiance!. As you have started to eat more since meeting your fiance your body has taken these extra, unneeded calories and stored them as fat!. You pretty much have two ways that you can control your metabolism - diet and exercise!.

Let's start with diet!. You say that you are now eating three meals per day and before you were eating one!. This is not a bad thing!. In fact by eating more regularly you can boost your metabolism and burn more calories!. However, you need to look at what you are eating and how much you are eating in these meals!. This is likely to be one of the big reasons behind your surprise weight gain!. Try and make each of the meals rich in fibre, rich in protein and lower in calories than they were before!.

Also try and do some regular exercise!. Resistance training with free weights, machine weights or your own body weight should help you build some muscle whilst resistance training should help you burn some extra calories and fat!.

Combining the two should go some way to helping you reach your original weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem a few years back!.!.!.I got a divorce and took a month long vacation to South Texas! Lost 40 pounds pdq!!! LOL!!!

Seriously, I know how you feel!. Let me guess, people say, oh you're not that big, or you're not fat at all, or honey I still love you!? Like it makes you feel any better!.!.!.so far, every other answer I have seen on here is excellent advice!.!.!.it sounds like you've just become less and less active over time and your metabolism has likely changed as well due to the inactivity!.!.!.maybe a change in type of food you eat regularly and maybe even how it's prepared!.Now, it will take time to get back down to a place where you are comfortable with yourself again!. Basically, become a health and fitness nut!.!.!.there are a million places online you can go to get info on what works to lose weight and/or get healthy!. My favorites are Jillian Michaels, hungrygirl!.com, Men's Health and Prevention; they all have some great recipe and meal advice too, but I only use the ones that have all the fat, calorie, sugar, and sodium listed!. Just remember, that you should start out slow on the exercise; don't overdo it by taking up running 3 miles everyday and lifting weights for an hour, too!. There are alot of little things you can do to get you headed in the right direction!.!.!.take the stairs instead of the elevator at work and taking a mile walk in the evenings is a huge start (plus it makes for extra leisure/good communication time for you and your guy)!.!.!.cut the sugar or even just the sodas (if you get headaches from caffeine withdrawals just take a multi B vitamin)!.!.!.eat more fish and white chicken (add a meal or two of each every week)!.!.!.drink TONS of water (the recommended amount is OK, but really, another 16 ounces will help)!.!.!.!.start paying close atention to the nutrition labels on the food you buy; you may be getting alot of bad stuff you don't know about (Google how to read nutrition labels)!.!.!.and my best advice of all!.!.!.DESTRESS!.!.!.it might sound crazy but I believe that no matter how healthy you eat, or how much you treadmill and lift, NOTHING will ever feel as good as getting the stress out! It is proven to be a major culprit in all health problems/issues!. It will aggravate anything that is even slightly amiss, so take a step back and evaluate if you have it, how much, and where it's coming from!. Then, you'll not only be a 5/6 again, you'll be a HAPPY Stressfree 5/6!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When losing weight, you should follow the dual course: exercise and
diet together!. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger
appetite, which will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier!. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin!. For
diet, go wheat free!. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on!. And no food
after 7 p!.m!. People achieve marvellous results with it!. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month!. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits!. But your
diet is still balanced!. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans!. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging!. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever!. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on) For targeting your problem areas, check up

I know exactly how you feel!. Well not exactly, because I don't have a fiance!. But I gained 35 pounds in a year and I lost all of it the next year!.
You have to try to make a big change-over!. When someone moves, or gets a new job, or some other big change, it's much easier to change your habits either for the good or bad!.
So now you need a change that will help you lose weight!. Either try to arrange a schedule so that you'll be commited to go to the gym every day!. I started going to a new college and walked an hour to and from it every day!. I think that's the main thing that helped me lose all my weight!. And once I started losing, I felt so good about myself and felt like I didn't want to ruin it by eating something horribly fattening, so I limited myself!. But I also told myself that I deserve treats sometimes for doing so much exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
