Dude it matters what you're going for!. Textbook form is basically a nod to injury rehabilitation, that is, keep the inside of the elbow against the side of the body, and lift as high as possible, it will not be straight up and down unless you use the anterior deltoid - which is bad, you're only trying to get the bicep worked out right now - the angle of the arm will not reach above 60% if you properly keep your elbow where it is when hanging down!. Seriously, do it without weight, and use your bicep!. Only your bicep!. Keep an elbow straight down and touching your side, don't move the elbow!. You'll see that you can't actually get your arm straight up and down at the top unless you rotate that elbow up in front of you!.

Course, I don't follow textbook, cause I'm a bodybuilder and know what I'm doing, so even breaking form is ok since it's to better stimulate the muscle even if it requires cheating!. I let my elbow go up as high as I need to touch the bar to my neck!. I don't do standing, but if I did, I'd either hit the clavicle if I was trying to get the long head or aim for the inside of the dumbell hitting the outside of my middle deltoid!. If you're unfamiliar with this theory though, I guarantee you're not advanced enough to do this, don't feel bad cause it took me years and I need years yet till I can train as I will at the endgame!. (At my peak)!. Everyone starts conservative!.

- you should never ever come up to the face!. Keep your head up looking forward and it should never hit that range of motion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's not a clear question as you think because there are multiple bicep curl lifts (preacher curls, iso curls, hammer curls, etc) also whether you are standing or sitting matters as well!. I would recommend not extending or flexing at 100%!. For instance, when you lower the weight don't straighten your elbow all the way, keep your muscle flexed!. The same for when you raise the weight, don't bring it all the way up to your face where the weight is able to rest on your shoulders!. If you lift slowly and keep a constant flex of your bicep going than your body will tell you how far to go!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

just make sure it hurts!. a good hurt!. and do about 10 with each arm

proper form: keep your elbows somewhat in from of you, and slowly bring the weight up!. and for heaven sake DON'T HOIST IT!. i hate watching people do that, they look so stupid! it doesn't do a thing!

just make it burn buddy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

start out with a wieght you feel comfortable with, dont over do it!. if you use a barbell it should come up under your chin!. dont lift more than you can comfortably handle!.start out small and work your way up!.
good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
