I need workout advice!! Help?!


Question: I need workout advice!! Help!?
I need to know what kind of workout program I can do at home to loose weight!. I'm trying to loose 250 pounds!.

Push-ups, yoga, and anything else I have to get on the floor to do is out!. I have back and knee problems that don't allow me to get on the floor!.

Jumping jacks-I can't do because I can't jump up and down more than maybe 1/8 of an inch!. I suck so bad at them!. Besides, I live on a 2nd floor apartment and me doing jumping jacks would bother the downstairs neighbors!.

Walking-PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO TAKE UP WALKING!. I know walking is the best thing!. I'm already in a walking program!. I want something more to do than just walking!. I know it's the best thing but what else can I do!?

Hey,

I understand your frustration!. Gaining weight is so easy, but losing it is so hard!.

So this is what you should do!. Get some weight training videos!. For weight training exercises, all you need is either a set of hand weights!. It will give you a total body work out!. It's virtually impossible to find a video that doesn't require getting on the floor (especially ab exercises)!.
If it is impossible for you, just skip that part and keep on moving through the video!. You can also go online and find alternative exercises to the one on the floor!. Also, weight training rarely requires any jumping!.

Since you are already walking- that means you are getting your cardio exercise!. Just ad the weight training and the pounds will start coming off!.

Please start off slow, do 1 hour of exercise a day, after a couple of weeks, when your body gets more adjusted to the exercises, then you can start increasing the amount of time you work out!.

I suggest starting off with light weights- at 4-5lbs!. Once that becomes too easy, get heavier weights and push yourself harder!.

It sounds like you've already started on the right path!. You need to talk to some experts about what you should do next, besides walking!.
Go to your local gym or YMCA!. The YMCA can give you a fitness evaluation, and help you develop a workout plan, designed to fit your needs and avoid any health issues, like the back and knee problems that you have!. Make sure you pass everything by your doctor, too!.

You can start with doing exercises while you are sitting down watching television which won't cause pain to your knees, etc!. Take a couple of 1 lb cans out of the cabinet and put one in each hand!. While watching tv, hold one can in each hand, raise arms to shoulder height out to side, (cans will be slightly above head) raise both arms at the same time by straightening your arms out over your head then lower to shoulder height!. Repeat 10 times!. Do 3 sets or as many as you can until you can do 3 sets of 10!. !. !. !. Sit back in your chair with feet on floor!. Straighten leg out and raise foot level with knee and pretend that there is a weight on your foot, which will cause you to raise the foot slowly!. Lower foot slowly!. Repeat 10 times!. Do 3 sets of 10!. !. !. !.From a sitting position, move to edge of straight chair!. Stand up!. Sit down!. Repeat 10 times!. Do 3 sets!. !. !. !. Stand up with feet hip width apart!. Raise arms out in front of you!. bend at the knees as if you are going to it down!. Lower your body until your buttocks is almost to your knees, then stand up!. Repeat 10 times!. Do 3 sets!. !. !. !. If you can't do ten times, do as many times as you are able and work up to 10, then work up to doing 3 sets!. After you have lost some weight or feel ambitious, add other exercises!. Remember, you should decrease the portions of food you eat until you are eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water, approximately 8 glasses each day!. Stay away from sodas which have lots of sodium and sugar!. you must decrease the amount of food you eat and increase movement!. It is what keeps the weight off!.
