Kettle Bell workouts - where to start?!

Question: Kettle Bell workouts - where to start!?
I am interested in trying workouts with the Kettle Bell!. What weight do I start with!? I'm a female in my early 40's and reasonably healthy and at a decent weight, but don't work out a lot other than walking regularly!. Someone told me to start at 15 lbs and work up from there, but that seems like a lot!. Does anyone have experience with this who would know!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
id advise you, since you are a 40 yr old woman to start out at the 15 lb kettlebell!. my mother is in her 40's and she thought the 10 was too light!. (so i had to go buy her the 15!.lol)
ive used kettle bells and i like them!. they are good when you want to get toned up!. especially if you do circuit training with them (a workout split made up of sets with sprints, jump rope, kettle bell exercises, and other high intensity exercises!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

For an average female with not a lot of fitness experience, it is recommended to start off with an 8 kg (17 lb) kettlebell!. Stronger than average women can start off with a 12 kg (26 lb) kettlebell!. Don't go lighter than the 17 lb one unless you have some specific physical issues that would mandate a lighter kettlebell!. Most kettlebell lifting is done using a large number of muscle groups, so you can make use of the heavier weight!. You won't be doing bicep curls with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with you and Joyce, especially with kettle bells, start light and start slow!. kettle bells are different in their very nature, simply because unlike bar and dumb bells the force of the weight is actually not centered in your palm but 6 to 8 inches in front of it, putting a lot of extra torque on the wrist joints!. Yes, kettle bells make for good exercise, but they are by nature harder to control!.

Good luck and I wish you much success!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Always start with low weights and gradually increase!.
You will know yourself when and how much to increase!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
