Bench Press vs Push Up's questions?!

Question: Bench Press vs Push Up's questions!?
I am currently thinking about buying a bench press machine, or whatever you call them lol!. I've never used one before, but i wanna get a bigger chest!. At the moment i'm currently doing push ups, and i can do about 40 after a full workout, so i could probably do about 50 or 60 before a workout cause i obviously have more energy then!. But i still wanna get a bigger chest cause it doesn't feel that big to me!. So if i spend about 200-300 dollars on a bench press machine will it improve my chest size by much, is it worth buying!. Do they also workout your arms much!?, and i also can't just go to a gym because i live in a small town with no gym!. thanks:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

sam,
push-ups is the ultimate work out!. They tend to work more than just your upper body!. consider why it is mandatory that you meet a certain criteria b4 enter military!. Plus why would you spend 200-300 dollars on a bench press when most wally worlds carry the bench and 100lbs of weight for less than 100 bucks!. Yes the press will improve your chest size but don!.t forget the resistant and toning you get from push ups!. Muscle balance is key to success, if you are having no problem with using your right arm for push-ups but fell weakness in your left to continue then you have to consider adjusting your work out just as a right handed boxer would ,trying to turn southpaw!.If your looking for bulk b!.p is good but start slow I have ripped alot of tendons and pinched alot of nerves over doing it!. I'm 41 now and have stretch marks to show if you don't keep toned or bulked you will loss it!. I would rather have stayed toned and cardio vascular fit than a muscle built man who is now dealing with the stress I put my body through, alot of stress to have a 50 inch chest and 23 inch arms at 20 yrs old and now i have the back!. knee joint and tendernidious that i shouldn't have had trying to impress the folks you still see walking upright without chronic pain!. What ever you decide please do not over do it!. It takes time and patience and remember not all horses grow the same but some last longer on the range!. Peace and growth be with you ,John Www@Answer-Health@Com

first of all you can buy 1 for 100 dollars the minimum and second of all it's worth buying ill increase your chest way better that a push up due to the fact that you can't put more weight on your body as you can put more on the bar, it works your chest, back, forearms, its the same as a pushup but you just doing it with a bar of course a more heavier bar therefore increasing and growing your muscles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you want a bigger chest I would suggest buying the bench press!. Pushups are great but after a while your body is getting used to pushing up your own body weight!. With a bench press you can go above your body weight in time thus resulting in a bigger chest!. Plus its also great for isolating your triceps when you want to work them out (just have a closer grip)!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to steadily increase weight to continue muscle growth, so doing push ups with your own body weight won't cut it after a while!. If you mean a weight rack, go for it!. Don't waste your money on a bow flex/nautilus, though; they're not as effective!.

Buying a bench press machine isn't worth it, ever!. Its a total waste of money!.

What you need is an Olympic barbell and some weights!.
http://www!.amazon!.com/s!?ie=UTF8&search-a!.!.!.

That and a bench with rack for doing the bench press on safely!.

A bench press machine might make you feel like your going somewhere, but you won't get a bigger chest, or get in better shape using one!. (Technically you will, but compared to barbell training it will be incredibly slow, and somewhat unsafe)!.

Two more things

1)You still have room to improve on doing push ups before going to a barbell!. Why not do a youtube search on push up variations!?

2)Doing a real bench press, with the goal of strength building (training low reps high weight) will get you towards your goals very quickly!. The first two months of weightlifting when your new to it, you always make progress at blinding speed, if your doing it right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
