A blend of protein and carb!. I remember reading somewhere (can't remember where) that after an hour of exercising (running or weight training) if you eat a certain ratio of protein and a certain ratio of complex carb, your body will use those fuel to rapidly built muscles!.
Protein! and probably potassium

So protein sources are meat like chicken turkey (pork and beef tend to be looked down upon as being "bad")

Complex carb: pastas, whole grain bread!.!.!.

Eat bananas too, they have potassium and are good for your muscles!.
