Question: Building Muscle - Without Weights (Calisthenics: Bodyweight Exercise)!?
I am not interested in becoming like Arnold Schwarzenegger during his prime but rather like Bruce Lee in his prime - just an example!. I am considerably thin right now and thus, would like to put on a bit of mass just for the extra "oomph"; however, I am interested in dense and toned muscles rather than cosmetic and large muscles!. I can do 40 push ups and 40 sit ups in a steady, controlled manner - I did this daily for the last week!.

What I want to know is, is bodyweight exercise going to get me some muscle!? If so, how long will it take!? I don't want to get too bulky!.!.!. just slightly but definitely more toned/ripped!.

I have provided pictures as an example of my goal/idea in case my explanations above were confusing!. The first picture is a bit exaggerated!. The second picture is probably what I am after!.

Hey man!. Starting off, the only way you'd ever be able to become Arnold in his prime is by training twice a day and taking large quantities and multiple cycles of steroids!. I think it's always funny when someone says they don't want to get, "too big!." The bottomline is, you'll never be too bulky, too fast!. It takes time to build quality, ripped muscle, so you'll have to work at it, just like everyone else!.

First off, you'll need to pick up your diet!. How is it looking right now!? You'll need to up your calories and protein intake as well!. That's the only way that you'll gain some quality muscle and size!. Would you be able to grab a gym membership, if that's what I suggested!? Because that would be way ideal!. It's quite difficult to get anything close to a "ripped" body without using weights!. I probably have close to the body you're after right now, and eat 6 food meals a day, including 4 different protein shakes, lift heavy weights, and still maintain a six pack fine!.

You'll need to work out for a few months to start seeing results!. Once you step up your nutrition though, all of the gains will come faster, so hop on that!. Are you taking any protein, as well!? That''ll be huge!. One when you wake up, once before your workout, one after and one before bed would be ideal!.

Anyways man, you'll have to put in some very solid work to achieve that type of body, so get to it and stay consistent! Eat constantly!
