Question: Can I build muscle mass at age 50!?

HAve your tesosterone level checked !. If it's low you will have a hard time buidling muscle and losing fat!. Shots can help!. If your T level is OK just keep hitting the gym and cut down on the eating and alcohol!. You will see results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can!. It will be significantly harder than when you were in your 20s (less testosterone and all), but it's really the same story!.

Eat healthy, and just a little more than you need!. Keep your diet balanced; you need protein (~1g/1lb body weight/day), along with carbs and a little fat for energy!. Don't skimp on the veggies (vitamins + minerals are essential)!. Take protein shakes if you need help balancing your diet, forget them otherwise!.

Do whatever workout plan suits you!. My favourite is a simple 2 or 3 day a week full body workout, but split routines/5x5/hell sets can all work if you know what you're doing!. 3 sets for compound exercises, 2 sets for isolations; worry mostly about the compounds (presses, squats, etc)!. Aim for 8-12 reps for 3-4 weeks, then 5-7 reps for 2 weeks!. Do each rep slow down and fast up!. Don't ignore cardio, but avoid marathons for a while (your body defaults toward the most aerobic development)!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know for sure, so what I say is just assumption!.

You should be able to build muscle mass, or increase on what you already have for quite some time!. Your body is always working to replace cells, so I don't see why not!.

You have more to risk, as far as injuries go, so if you work out, work out smart and take suppliments!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Man, have you ever heard of Tony Horton!. He is 55 and is the most ripped person I've ever seen!. So yes you can definitely build muscle mass at age fifty!.

As long as you are alive you can build muscle!. Just start exercising and eating right!. Weight lifting is good but if you are really out of shape I would suggest light exercise like walking to get started!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
