Answers:
The logic behind the advice is sound!. The argument goes like this:

When you work out hard in the gym, you're not actually building muscle!. You are in fact tearing it up and breaking it down!. In exercise science circles, we call this microtrauma!. When you leave the gym, your body feels sore and tired because of this microtrauma, which was of course deliberately induced by lifting weights!.

During rest and recovery, your body will naturally want to repair the damaged muscle fibres since microtrauma, is after all, trauma to the body and the body needs to heal itself!. And it does this very well!. In fact, it does this SO well, that in addition to repairing the damaged fibres, it also tried to protect itself against future damage by building up the muscle beyond it's original size!. This is how and why you grow!. Your body builds muscle as a protective mechanism in anticipation of future damage!. By building bigger/more muscle fibres, it is more able to withstand the next session of training!.

Now, all this growth and repair takes place outside of the gym!. Specifically, most of your growth takes place while you sleep!. This is also the reason professional bodybuilders are known to sleep 10 to 12 hours per day!. They need the rest so that their bodies have ample time to rebuild and repair!.

From the foregoing, it is logical that if you were to train, for example, your triceps 5 days in a row, do you think your triceps will really have time to recover, repair and rebuild!? Sure, you may be gifted genetically and perhaps you recover faster than others, but that still doesn't mean that it is a good idea to work out the same muscles everyday!. In fact, I would argue that if you have super fast recovery, it would make even more sense to give your muscles a full day rest at least, so that you max out your recovery time, thus ensuring that you are fully recovered!.

If you are a beginner, chances are that you will have to experience this for yourself!. Keep doing what you're doing, and I can guarantee you that sooner or later, you will find that you absolutely cannot keep this up for long!.

And finally, just to keep things real, I seriously doubt that you've gotten "massive" in one month, regardless of whether you train your muscles everyday or not!. Building muscle takes years and years and years of dedication, sacrifice and hard hard work!. You don't get massive in one month, regardless of the way you train!.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble or be negative, but patience is a very much overlooked virtue in bodybuilding!. I've no doubt you've grown in one month, but you need to be smart about your training!. More doesn't always give you better results!. I know people with very respectable physiques who workout only 3 times per week!. But, they've been doing it for about 8 years!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

As a beginner, you're seeing lots of changes!. Keep it up for a year, and you will want to only do weight training on a particular muscle group every other day!.
Weight training causes microscopic tears in muscle tissue!. This is good because when they heal the muscle is stronger!. But they need the time to recover, about 36-48 hours!.
If you've become "massive," you must be a young male, yes!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your gains come out of the gym, not in it!. Meaning that whatever growth/strength gains you get from working out will only occur whenever you get rest, and if you work the same muscle group everyday you are not getting sufficient rest!.

And I don't want to sound arrogant, but I doubt you became "massive"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

beginner gains!.!.!. beginners will gain no matter how they eat or how they train!.

once you start lifting heavier you wont have the work capacity to workout that much without burning out!.

3 times a week lifting heavy compound exercises is enough!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Soreness, for those who are just getting back in shape!. Or perhaps because they aren't looking to build muscle, just tone!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
