its different for everyone!. genetics has quite a big role in bodybuilding - some people will put on muscle easier/more quickly than others!. generally speaking beginners make more gains than people who have been training for a while!. this is beause their muscles arent used to the stimulus of the extra weight and will therefore respond better!. after a while your muscles will stagnate (get used to the stimuli) and your progress will slow down!. thats why bodybuilders use different rep ranges and exercises so that they can "shock" their muscles into new growth!. when i first started lifting there was a noticeable difference in muscle mass after about a month!.

anyway you need to decide whats more important: gaining muscle or losing fat!. its very difficult to do both properly at the same time!. this is because in order to gain muscle you need to be eating in caloric surplus (consuming more calories than you burn), and in order to lose fat you need to be in caloric deficit (consuming less calories than you burn)!. So if you are spending an hour doing cardio on the treadmill everytime you do weights, you will probably find it difficult to gain much strength or muscle mass, but may start losing a substantial amount of body fat!. whatever your aim is good luck i hope this helps

btw you can lift more than 15 pounds if you can do 20-30 reps of itWww@Answer-Health@Com

What are your goals!? To get big or to cut down the fat!?

You must bulk to get big!. Meaning, eats tons of food with lots of proteins and calories!. At least 6 meals a day!. Lift heavy for low reps!. Add protein shakes!.

You must cut to be ripped!. Minimize your caloric intake!. Eat lean meats and veggies!. Low and healthy carbs!. 5-6 small meals a day!. At least an hour of cardio a day and lift lower weights for higher reps!. Add protein shakes!.

In my opinion, I think you should bulk up now, so when you cut, you will actually see results!.

Do splits like this,

Chest/tris
Back/bi's
Shoulder/!?
Legs/Abs

Remember, 80% is diet, 10% is gym, and 10% desire!.

And don't worry about how much you lift!. Just keep lifting!.

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
