Answers:
it does yeh but ater awhile her body should return to normal and so will her metabolism!.

i had an eating disorder and all the weight did seem to go straight to my stomach and i had such a pot belly whilst i didnt seem to gain much weight anywhere else so i look way to skinny with a fat belly! but after a couple months the weight redistrubtion goes back to normal and she'll feel better about herself!.

her metabolism should get back to normal after shes gained a good amount of weight back though in extreme cases it can take up to a good year but most likely it will be fine in a few months!. hope this helped, just reassure her her metabolism isnt ruined at all!.

oh also weight training whilst gaining weight helps A LOT and helps to speed up metabolismWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes it does until she is on regular regimen!. eating and exercising if allowed!. This messes with your electrolytes, your blood levels and your organs so yes!. Eating disorders wreak havoc on the body!. I hope she discusses this with her physician so they can work it out!. Hormone levels get thrown for a loop too!. Once her body is on target for a certain amount of time(depends on the person and how well body regulates itself) this should change!. good luck to your friendWww@Answer-Health@Com

it prolly slowed it down quite a bit!. a monthWww@Answer-Health@Com

no it def didnt ruin her metabolism, our body's can adapt to 1000 times of a worse stress than an eating disorder!. Of course they can still kill you but what im saying is that theres a chance that while she was bulimic, her metabolism was having a rough time b/c it wasnt able to get the nutrients it needed so cortisol levels were prolly high most of the time!. And cortisol, which essential to our survival, is terrible for the body (including metabolism) in chronic high levels!. However, bulimia nervosa individuals usually dont see much of a weight loss, there r exceptions of course, but their weight doesnt fluctuate too much from the norm!. Just remember, she does have an eating disorder (and prolly will have it for the rest of her life, but can control it with the proper treatment and motivation), so her perception on her body is off and she is gonna notice things that r not true!. I am saying this b/c 3 lbs is not enough to make a pot belly, it is possible that she had a small pot belly to being with and is now noticing it for whatever reason!. I would say the best thing to tell her is that if her metabolism is outta whack, it will go back to normal (or at least close to it) with time!. She just has to keep pushing on and not worry about her looks!. Finally, her worrying about her stomach and the food going to it all together is still the bulimia talking and u should let her know that she doesnt really have ne control over where her body puts the food once she eats it, none of us do!. Just keep giving her constant motivation and do not let her think negatively about her body or eating and she will get better in time!.

i wish her the best, and email me should u have ne further questions!. A couple of my professors specialize in eating disorders and whatnot so i could ask them if u would want that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
