Question: Will colon cleanse tablets help you lose weight!?
I have just purchased some from Holland and Barrett, i find that they do what they say on the tin, but if you continue to use them over a few months or so would it help you lose weight!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No sorry - they are completely useless as are many of the products sold by Holland and Barrett!. And they are not cleansing your colon they are just a laxative - not quite the same thing!.

Bur ignore the guy below me - clearly talking out of his colon!. Yes your colon is perfectly capable of keeping itself healthy if you eat a great diet, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly!. There is however a stack of evidence to show that this is just not happening - we are currently the most constipated country in the EU spending a staggering amount on laxatives each year, bowel cancer is the third most common cancer and the second biggest killer and how many people do you know who have IBS, IBD, Crohns, Colitis, Diverticular etc!. And people have been given such rubbish information about food for so many years that hardly anyone really knows what constitutes a good diet!. In addition, people go to the doctors for advice about bowel issues and they pretty much get dismissed - doctors can think no further than fybogel, lactulose, peppermint tablets etc!. I don't know if the guy below me is from the US - I have no idea what an NP is, but the bowels of people in the states are definitely faring no better!. Colons do build up old and stagnant waste - you would be astonished just how much and it can weigh anything from 2 to 9 lbs!. And you don't have to believe in it - if you have a colonic you will see with your own eyes just how much is there even if you go to the loo more then once a day!. And people do definitely feel much better for getting rid of the backlog and its not just testimony!. I have had a client who's eyesight improved and this was confirmed by his Consultant!. People lose weight, get their waist back, sleep better, get rid of dark rings under their eyes, get rid of spots, don't suffer bloating any more and stop having the symptoms the doctor told them was IBS - I could go on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My first question in reply would be -- what in the world do you need colon cleansing tablets for in the first place!?

Your weight depends on what you EAT and digest; not how fast you can get rid of it with a cathartic pill that purges the already digested food from your body!.

It's unfortunate that people are making millions off selling this nonsense!. The body's intestinal system does a fine job at eliminating waste itself, rather than taking a pill to make it go faster!. Not to mention, there is absolutely NO RESEARCH BASED EVIDENCE that suggests this is HEALTHY or even GOOD FOR YOU!. Funny!.!.!.they have plenty of people's testimonies about how much better they feel after they have had a bowel movement -- but that is ONLY a testimony!. When it comes right down to it, virtually ALL people feel better after they have a BM!. If people are constipated, then stop eating all the junk and constipating foods; increase their WATER and FIBER intake!. There are plenty of resources out there (internet) that can help you with improving your diet, and finding those foods that can help with digestive issues!.

These, as well as most, dietary supplements have NO regulation to ensure safety, quality, or purity!. Not to mention, the potential for becoming "bowel addicted" to these products HAS been shown!.

I don't suggest them, and hope you will look into a refund!.

Best of luck!.

Addendum: I certainly sense the "attack" that the colonic therapist has written in regard to my reply!. Certainly such statements only prove that people in the business of "colon cleansing" are threatened by people like me (Nurse Practitioner) who dismiss it as a money making scheme akin to the snake oil of the 1800s!. I've assisted in many colonoscopies and have yet to see the so-called "pounds of stagnant waste!." This is a common SCARE TACTIC that people who sell such a service; having absolutely NO evidence that it does anything more than just purge your colon of the waste that would otherwise come out on its own!. It's unfortunate, but true!. These therapies have only anecdotal evidence and testimonies to back them up!. To date, there are NO studies done that demonstrate even an inkling of clinical significance!.

For certain, there's no doubt that people "feel better" once they've had a bowel movement, and people feel bad when they're constipated!. But a majority of people get this way because of a lack of dietary fiber and appropriate water intake -- that's the truth!. Most medical providers understand this, and I find it VERY inappropriate to suggest that patients' concerns are simply "dismissed!." Once again, a paltry attack on our providers by a small conglomerate of people who need to sell their "product!." I'm not selling ANYTHING as a provider, and I certainly have the majority of my patients screened for colon cancer by the guidelines and when otherwise necessary!. When these reports are returned by the gastroenterologists who have done these procedures, I have yet to read in their dictations ANYTHING about "stagnant waste," as if it were barnacles stuck to the side of a boat!.

Not really, but people waste their money like crazy on it thinking it will!. If you take a cleanse BEFORE you start a diet it can increase the effects of the diet!. If you just take the cleanse it won't help you lose weight!. The best cleanse is found at GNC though, they don't use any fillers or anything, their product is the best out there!. Well it will have similar effects to not eating at all considering that you could easily push a lot of partially digested food out of your body!. In other words yes, you'd end up losing weight by starvation (and destroying your body at the same time)!.

Don't pill to lose weight, just exercise and watch what you eat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used the sailene Phospho-soda (lemon Flavor) to lose a few pounds the night before going to take my physical for the army, It comes in a 1!.5 ounce shot type bottle!. Yes, I did drop about a pound and a half!. I imagine the pills you speak of are similar!.
It does
dehydrate you, and should not be taken regularly!. This came from my doctor!. Be prepared to stay close to the nearest toilet for a few hours!.
Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
