Is it OK to lift weights today if I am still slightly sore from my last workout?!

Question: Is it OK to lift weights today if I am still slightly sore from my last workout!?
I had a great workout two days ago, took it easy yesterday, and I'm heading back to the gym today!. I would normally lift weighs again today, but I am still slightly sore today!. Not even sore, really!.!.!.it's more like I am slightly more aware of my muscles than usual as a result of working out!. I feel it mostly in my abs and thighs!. Is it OK for me to go ahead and lift weights again today!? What about cardio (I usually do the elliptical for 30-45 minutes)!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
As long as you gave your muscles time to rest (minimum 24 hours) which you did, you're fine!. There's no harm in working out again when they're already worked a bit!. It might actually alleviate the strain to keep them stretching!. Just be aware of how much you're putting into it; you don't want to pull a muscle!. Other than that though, it's not going to hurt you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on which muscle group you are working out really but since it has been a full 2 days since your workout you will be fine lifting today!.

A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 48 hrs between workout sessions where you work out the same muscle groups!.

If you are still slightly sore then getting back in to the gym on schedule will actually help you recuperate faster in many cases!. Cardio is also good for helping you with this "active recovery" phase!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're fine!. You can work out!. If the muscles are still sore you should just take it easy on those select groups for the day!. For example, if your abs are sore, work your biceps and triceps that day!. As far as cardio goes you can never have enough!. Feel free to use that elliptical as much as you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course push yourself more the reuslt wold be better!. Soreness indicate a good work out and the muscle tissue are torn and repairing giving strong muscle!. Do not life too much but light ones are actually helping as the blood flow more rapidly!. When i work out i do differnt part of body in one day and so on the other!. Like arms and legs today then abs, back chest shoulder tomrrow liek that you can buildup swiftlyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely!. Just make sure to be aware of why your body is sore!. If your body is fairly new to hard workouts, try to take it easy for a couple of weeks, then build up the intensity!. Your body will thank you!

Hope this helps!.
