Question: Need help from diet and fitness expert please!?
If every time we move we are burning calories ,just breathing and sitting we are still using calories so why do experts say we need to do cardio exercise for at least 20 minutes to burn FAT !.What are we burning if we are just going about our usual daily routine , cant we burn fat by doing normal daily activities!.
I have a few stone to lose ,so reducing calorie intake is the main thing , then cant I just move a bit faster , do more stuff but not spend 20 mins running , fast walking or going to the gym!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok well when the body is not working extremely hard, we burn calories from fat!. If you're say, sitting on the couch watching television, your body will be burning calories from fat!. But you will only be burnin at the rate of about 1 or 2 calories a minute, which is no good is it!? So that is the reason you have to do some more work!. Running is definitely the best way to burn fat!. Fast walking is also good but I wouldn't say its as good as running!. When we do sprinting, it uses more energy from our glycogen stores because you're working so hard and the body has a higher demand for energy!. Supposedly when sprinting around 60% of energy is from glycogen and 40% from fat!. When doing jogging 70% of energy is from fat!. But sprinting uses MORE calories altogether, so just because the percentage that comes from fat is less, if you work out the percentage of the total calories from fat burned after sprinting, it will actually be more than you would have burned from jogging!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If during your daily routine you can bring your heart rate up to the same level as exercising then that would be ok!. Intense exercise has been shown to have a longer lasting calorie burning effect even after you stop exercising!. Greater muscle mass also means a higher metabolic rate!. There are also many other health benefits associated with exercising so I would say don't avoid it but embrace it!. Find an activity you enjoy and go for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

We are always using energy!. Just to keep us alive we are using energy!. Do you see how hot you are!? Temperature wise I mean!.
