If the rotator cuff is torn, rehab alone is not going to fix this!. If the 73 year old male is in good health, and able to do mild to moderate exercise, then having the surgery is the BEST option!
It's a painful recovery!.!.!.!.especially the first week, so be prepared for that!. After about 6-8 weeks, very light rehab is started!.!.!.!.!.and continues to build in intensity/strengthening!. The usual time frame for complete recovery is 6-8 months!.
