Try eating smaller portion but more times a day!. And include protien and veggies!. I eat 5 times a day just smaller portions and a good combo of protiens, carbs and veggies!. Not much dairy or sugar/salts!. Works pretty good!. I lost about 30 pounds doing that a few years back and have kept it off!. Try Michael Thermon if you want intense weight loss!. Eating alot of fruits and vegetables and like you said exercising!. Also i don't know why but someone told me iron or whatever, but i doubt that!.
