I would recommend a protein shake instead of eating something that late at night!. You will get a lot of good protein to build muscle and keep youre metabolism running high, and won't need to digest solids while you're sleeping which can lead to gaining weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you eat is not really that important!. Its a lot less important than what you eat and how much!. I think it is a good idea to refuel your muscles with some protein after a workout, no matter what time!.

The only thing that makes sense to me as to why people stop eating after a certain hour to lose weight is because it makes them hungrier in the morning, so they are more likely to eat breakfast!. This HAS been shown to promote weight loss!.

So yes, it is good to eat protein after a workout!. It doesn't necessarily have to be a whole meal- a small glass of skim milk would be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its not so much when you eat but how!. Its best to eat 6 small meals a day, your never too hungry and never too full!.You should also eat good foods!. If your trying to bulk up or are working out ALOT extra protein helps your tissues heal faster!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would eat a small balanced meal!. Your body will eat up those calories having just worked out!. I don't think it would make you gain weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

good - you are burning off calories even up to 1 hr after you are done !.!.but eat good foodWww@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, that whole thing about "eating after 7 p!.m!. making you fat" is not true!. That is a very common myth!. Your body can't distinguish night from day, it doesn't start acting differently at one time, and another way at a different time!.

The only correct recommendation is that your carbohydrate intake should be lowered before you go to sleep, because all carbohydrates break down to glucose, and when you are about to sleep, the energy from the glucose (sugar) isn't expended since you will be sleeping, so your body stores it as fat!.

However, since you are working out at night, you can break this rule!. Basically, your body stores glycogen (sugar) in the muscles and liver, and when they are full of glycogen, after consuming carbohydrates, excess glucose from the carbohydrates will be stored in adipose (fat) tissue!.

However, when you workout, glycogen from your muscles and liver is depleted to be used as energy (that is why you are hungry after a workout)!. So, after a workout, insulin (storage hormone that regulates blood sugar levels) will force the excess glucose from any carbohydrates you consume into the muscles and liver, because they will be depleted of glycogen deposits, and, as explained, glycogen is stored in the muscles and liver if they are not already full!.

In fact, after a workout, you should be consuming a meal high in protein and carbohydrates!. The protein is required to rebuild muscle fibers (which are broken down from a workout, and rebuilt stronger with rest and proper nutrients)!. Carbohydrates are required to fill the liver and muscles with glycogen again so that you don't become too low on energy!.

If I confused you, just replace the words "glycogen" and "glucose" with "sugar"!. Glycogen is basically excess glucose you consume that gets stored in the body!. Anyway, long story short!.!.!.it is fine to eat after working out, whether it is day, night, or afternoon, and after a workout, any carbohydrates (even the "bad" types) are fine and should definitely be taken to bring up your energy levels again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
