Can you tell me some good exercises for shapping my legs?!


Question: Can you tell me some good exercises for shapping my legs!?
I want to feel good when wearing a skirt or shorts, but I can't do exercises with weight, I hurted my knee last month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have hurt your knee then you do not want to be doing an impact exercise, so no running, jumping walking up staires, and try and keep off high stress exercises like lunges, squats!. These are all good exercises but when you are heathly and your knee can do more!. But swimming is good it will tone and shape your legs with no stress or impact!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have bad knees and I understand what you are talking about!. I can't do squats or lunges!. Lay on the floor on your side, legs straight !. You can do both, either have your whole body in a line or bend at your hips when you are on your side!. Again legs straight!. turn your knee as if you are pointing to the floor with your knee cap, from there just raise your legs 1 to 2 inches and do as many as you can!. This exercise works deep into the muscle!. Then switch sides!. You can also do this standing up, sitting with one leg in front of your body and bent, or kneeling, lifting your leg to the side, then just repeat on other side!.

i have bad knees also!. i am mostly concerned with my thighs so i get on all 4's straiten on leg and lift up and down a couple hundred times!. that helps with the back of my thighs and butt
after that to work the outside of my legs by staying on all 4's but lifting my leg to the outside (kinda like a dog peeing) its funny i know but after doing those i really do feel it!.
I love leg lifts because they are easy on joints, give a workout, and you can do them any were!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lunges and squats use your knees but just the weight of your body!. They are good if you can manage them!.

Tone your hammies by laying stomach down on a yoga ball, and crawl out on your hands until your feet are at the end of the ball!. Pull the ball in with your feet, hold, and let back!.

Tone your calves by doing calf-raises!. Go on a set of stairs, preferably with a railing, and stand with your toes on the edge of the stairs!. Lift yourself on your tip-toes and release!. You can do sets and switch positions: turn your toes inwards, or outwards!. Remember to stretch them after this! (Put the tip of your toe against a wall and lean forward)

Another good one is lay on your side and put one leg slightly over the other!. Your knees should still be pretty much parallel!. With the foot thats underneath, lift your leg up as far as it will go without hurting!. Then set back down!. Do a set and then switch sides!.

Fire hydrant! Us girls hated this one in gym class with the hockey team watching us from the weight room but it really works ! Get on your hands and knees, balance yourself and lift one leg to the side, like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant ! sounds ridiculous, I know ! But it starts to burn and it works really well!.

If you want more, check out the machines at your gym, you should be able to use machines with no weight or with a very small amount (like 10 pounds)!. Or go to the library and pick up some exercise books, yoga is excellent for toning muscles and it is easy to find books!. The internet is always everyones favourite resource, so head for that too!.

Remember to always stretch EVERYTHING before and after working out even if its not a muscle youre working on :)

the best leg shaping exercises in my opinion are walking lunges, one legged squats (put one foot behind you on a chair), and hamstring curls!. dont forget the calves too!.!.!.you want the total package!. the beauty is that none of these exercises will hurt your knees!. just make sure your properly stretched and warmed up!.
