crunches work your abdominals without doing a full situp!. Head position should not be the indicator, your muscles should be!. Theres like 50 different crunches you can do, google it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
a sit up is when you lift all the way up with your back vertical, a crunch is when you sit up just enough to feel a burn in your abs which helps with your back if im not mistaken!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Crunch-barely lift up off the floor, get shoulder blades off the floor
Sit up- sit all the way up and lower back will get off the floor too, a bit harder and more muscles are worked, higher range of motionWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think crunches are better, and it puts less strain on your neck/spine!.
Crunches = More effective if done properly!.
Sit-ups = Waste of time!.
