Answers:
Nope, not bad at all!. What have I always been telling you!? Lol!. Upon awakening and post-workout are two times of day glycogen is depleted from the muscles and liver, so insulin spikes caused by rapid rising in blood sugar levels will cause glycogen to be stored in the liver and muscle, as opposed to adipose tissue!.

This is because as long as the muscles and liver are not sufficient in glycogen deposits, that is where glycogen will be stored!. If you want to have "bad" carbohydrates, post-workout and upon awakening are the time to do it!. The carbohydrates are needed to replenish glycogen depleted from the muscles and liver to bring up energy levels again!.

Edit: The sugars from carbohydrates is the same, carbohydrates all break down to glucose!. It is only the source of the carbohydrates that can differ!. After a workout, the carbohydrates from cake are fine!. Unless the muscles and liver already have sufficient glycogen, the glucose gets stored as glycogen in the muscles and liver!.

If not, the glucose gets stored as glycogen in adipose tissue!. After a workout glycogen from the muscles and liver is depleted, so it is essentially fine to consume carbohydrates from cake post-workout!. The downside is that there are other ingredients that aren't too healthy in cake, but it is negligible if you eat junk food now and then!.

Edit: If the meal had a really large amount of carbohydrates then glycogen was still depleted from the muscles and liver (although not as much as if you weren't to have a high carb meal pre-workout), so your muscles and liver still probably didn't have as much glycogen as they should, so the cake should be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you had to pick any time of the day to have cake after your workout would be the best, because that's when carbs and sugar are least likely to be stored as fat as they are stored to replenish some glycogen!. Of course you wouldn't want to do this everyday but if you're lifting heavy and have it it's not gonna make a difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your idea of sugars providing some energy for fuel is almost correct!. The sugar from the cake is not the right type for that!.!.that will mostly go as fat storage!.!.!.don't panic though it's not a lot as long as you didn't eat a lot or continue to (just have a piece cause you can't resist) believe me I know it's tough!. The body will convert the right foods to the proper sugar for an energy source!.!.!.and I can say!.!.!.it's not cake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can eat anything anytime you want in moderation! I assume you didn't eat the whole cake!? What your goals are makes a big difference!. If you want to lose weight, watch how much you are eating and what you are taking away to make up those calories!. If you are just trying to stay fit or build muscle, I don't see how a few sweets (that running probably raises your metabolism enough for the hours afterward to burn off) are going to hurt as long as the rest of your diet is balanced!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well mate, it isnt clean food!.!.!. but you know, a little indiscretion here and there isn't going to set you back either!. That bit of cake is prolly about 700-1000 Calories!.!. which is 45 minutes on an exercise bike!.

Yes, directly after a workout is probably the best time to be indiscrete about what you eat!.!. but you know!.!. building muscle needs good nutrition so it's all about what you put in your mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only in the sense that all those calories are not very nutrient dense and it is demoralizing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you have it once in awhile then thats fine but like if your craving starbursts then have a strawbery or a bananaWww@Answer-Health@Com

does it matter!? it's done!. Protein shakes have TONS of sugars in them, probably twice as much as that cake you ate, by the way!.

Weird question to ask on the internet!.!.!. "Is it bad I ate cake!?"Www@Answer-Health@Com
