Can you get fat just by eating lots of peanuts and eating other regular meals?!

Question: Can you get fat just by eating lots of peanuts and eating other regular meals!?
I'm really addicted to peanuts!. I pretty much eat at least 50g a night cos my dad always gets the 500g bags and they're really addictive!. I eat normally otherwise!. My BMI is about 20!. Should I just try to avoid them!? Or do you think it'll make much of a difference!. I doubt I can do portion control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Peanuts are high in fat, but that isn't a reason to stay away from them!. Aslong as you are getting all the good stuff you need and you don't go over your energy requirements, you are ok!. Everyone should keep tabs on their weight, not compulsively, every couple of weeks at most if you aren't on a diet or anything!. People who suddenly feel that they are overweight might not be in that situation if they weighed themselves even once a month!. It might be an idea to mix it up a little though, rather than having peanuts everyday, have peanuts, cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, chestnuts, just 5 times a week!. Every night is a little bit excessive, 50g is a hefty serving, 350g a week every week is a lot for such a high fat food!. Eating a variety of nuts simply varies your diet meaning you have a better balance of vitamins (different nuts contain different amounts of vitamins, simple really)!. Cashews are my fave, I used to love peanuts but now I go for cashews everytime!.

On the plus side, the fats are healthy fats (not an excuse to eat more, healthy fats are still 9 calories per gram) which reduce the risk of heart disease!. I imagine you don't eat much fast food, people who regularly eat nuts don't crave unhealthy foods as much as other people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

any kinds of nuts are going to be very high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (the good kind! not saturated fat/trans fat), typically 16g of fat per serving in most varietys but as long as you eat a well balanced diet and exercise you will be fine!. i just dont suggest eating an entire bag at a time lol eating too much of anything is not gonna be generally good for ya!. Over about 20 years, you might get fat, but I really don't think a few nuts a night are going to make that much difference!. If it bothers you that much, ask your dad to get just one bag a week!. Then once they're gone, they're gone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can! Peanuts have a lot of salt in themWww@Answer-Health@Com

just have them, but eat normally to and have them as a treat like once a week xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
