Do you need triceps to do pull/chin ups?!

Question: Do you need triceps to do pull/chin ups!?
I struggle quite a lot in trying to do chin ups and pull ups and i recently noticed that I have quite small triceps compared to my other muscles and I was wondering if it was my lack of triceps that are interfering with my ability to pull/chin up!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Chin ups primarily use the biceps, so triceps might not help you a whole lot there!. Pull ups on the other hand do use your deltoids, triceps, forearm, and lats!. So yes, tricep kickbacks and pushups will help!. As will flexed arm hang!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You dint need triceps for pull ups, you are exercising your back, shoulders, biceps and stomach muscles!. I recommend that you vary the type of pull ups your doing, widening your grip and changing from over hand and under hand grips will help focus on a wider group of muscles!.

It is absolutely essential you build your triceps more!. Your main arm should consist of 75% tricep!. Triceps are harder to develop!. You can build them by doing a variety of press ups, i find handstand press ups particularly good!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not necessarily, chin ups are difficult for beginners as you are lifting your own weight!.

Keep trying them, as many as you can manage!.

You will get up to more reps quite quickly!.

If you want to build your Tri's, you can do dips between two chairs or press ups with hands close together, or if you have or go to a gym, you can do cable push downs or close grip bench presses etc !.!.!.!. Any of these will help build them up

The Golden Rule is DON'T GIVE UPWww@Answer-Health@Com

no (unless it's a muscle up), pull/chin ups are pulling motions therefore u will mainly be using ur lats and ur biceps!. for pushing motions like pushups or dips, u will need ur pecs and triceps (and sometimes deltoids)!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
