Am I really anorexic? Please help.?!


Question: Am I really anorexic!? Please help!.!?
For about two months many people, including my parents, have mentioned how thin I look!. My mom claims that I'm anorexic, but I don't believe her!. I was hoping someone could help me clarify if I am!.
I'm 16 years old, a female, 5'3, and weight about 105 pounds!.
Typically my day includes!.!.!.
My breakfast is special k high protein cereal with light soy milk and black coffee!.
My lunch is a salad with a boiled egg and light dressing (35 calories) and an apple!.
I have a snack mid-afternoon of about 3 pieces of toast and crackers!.
And my dinner typically is a large bowl of special k high protein cereal with strawberries, bananas, and light soy milk!. I also have a bowl of light ice cream!.
And I end the day with running for about 2 hours everyday!. I haven't missed a day in 2 months!.

Just from reading your diet, it is clear that you are not eating enough protein to keep your muscles healthy (think about nuts, beans, meats, fish, soy yogurt, tofu, hummus for protein)!. Eating more beneficial fats (like in flax, fish or fish oil tablets) will support skin, brain, and eye health also!.

Because your diet is mostly carbs, and you are 16, you may find that the carbs start to make you gain weight, or you may start to crave carbs more & more, as your body starts to realize it needs more food to stay in shape, but what it really needs is more protein and good fats!.
You may have a couple years even before this vicious cycle starts but if you notice that change just start to add the foods above to your diet!.

On a personal note, you sound like you are in training for anorexia nervosa!. You seem fully aware of the extra attention you are giving to your diet and exercise routine!. So this is what my non-professional answer is: If your routine causes you stress, pain, as well as pleasure in the ultimate goal to lose weight, then you may be headed down a dangerous road and you should ask for help asap at school or from your parents!.

If you enjoy your routine and feel you are able to make changes to help you increase your muscle weight to bring you up to a healthy balance, then you might just be a health nut :) Challenge yourself on this!.!.!. if you can't bring yourself to do what's healthy, then get help!.

[I did a diet similar to your's in high school and by the time I was 18 I had severe gastrointestinal distress that sent me to the hospital in terrible pain!. It took 2 1/2 years of perfect healthy eating before I fully recovered from the painful episodes!. Don't mess around cuz it sux)Www@Answer-Health@Com
