I just met with a personal trainer who explained that a BMR total is just for how many calories a day you burn with no activity, on a day to day basis!. Here is a website that can help!.

1!. Find out what your BMR is!. (I know you already did but re-do it)
2!. Afterward, click on the Harris Benedict Equation!. Once you figure that out, click on whether you want to lose weight or gain!. It should tell you the approximate amount of calories you should have a day!.

No mate!. The BMR is the energy you spend just breathing and lying around at night and so on!. On top of this you walk to the car, drive to wherever, walk up a flight of stairs, have a bit of sex if your lucky, run away from an angry boyfriend or two!.!.!. all the things you do in a typical day including exercise!.!.!. so if you are moderately active and play sport or exercise more than 5 times a week you would multiply your BMR by 1!.7 or something!.!.!.!. and the product is the amount of caloreis required to sustain your current body weight for that level of activity!.

The figure (1!.7) !.!.!. I am just using my memory!.!.!. but there is a formula!.!.!. its used in this calculator!.!.!. http://www!.internetfitness!.com/calculato!.!.!. and takes into account your activity level!.

Just adding the calories burned while exercising isnt correct!.!. as you burn more energy repairing your muscles from that exercise!.!.!. whilst you sleep for example!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, that sounds right!. You would add 500 calories to your BMR, but, you're right, working out does burn a lot of calories, so you might want to go to a higher excess of calories, especially since you are weightlifting!.

2,800 calories is good, increase your intake by 10% once you stop gaining weight!. By doing nothing your body burns 1,600 calories a day, and by weightlifting and cardio, you are probably burning a good 500 or so calories!. What do you mean by sources, sources for what!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

BMR or Base Metabolic Rate is like many of these things not an exact measurement!. No one here can advise you on what to do unless we understand your goals!. If your goal is to increase your % muscle while reducing your % fat, then get a body fat monitor and use this to gauge your performance and change!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
