what do they mean by six small meals!? can anybody give me some examples of small meals i can eat!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
they're like regular meals, only smaller!.!.you're metabolism needs energy to keep going, enough food for energy so your metabolism can keep working and burning calories, but not too much, so you don't have excess calories that will get stored as fat!. small meals is basically just regular meals in smaller portions!.!.or you can even eat like a banana or a granola bar, that can serve as a small meal too!. the idea to to keep your energy up, so your metabolism keeps working!.!.this is especially good for people with low metabolism and who tend to gain weight if they eat larger portions or meals!. add some exercise to that, and you're good as gold!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was on a diet that used this principle, and it does work!. Once you've been doing it for awhile, you actually feel fuller on smaller amounts and for longer periods of time!. For instance for breakfast, which is very important in starting your metabolism, I would have a a slice of wheat toast and maybe 6 large strawberries or 2 eggs!. Mid-morning you should eat like a fruit or a vegetable (apple, orange, carrot sticks, etc!.)!. Lunch maybe a small chicken breast, and smaller portions of vegetables or a salad!. Same thing for mid-afternoon and dinner!. You can also have a snack after dinner, just preferably before 8!. Portion sizes of fruits and vegetables, if you dont have a scale, would probably be about the size of your fist!. Basically smaller than anything you would normally get as a side at a restaurant!. Instead of a Big Mac meal at McDonalds (whether or not that is big or small for you, i am just using as a size comparison) you could have something like a small cheeseburger, and a small drink!.!.!.
Small meals, like a small bowl of salad, or pasta!. Soup!? Maybe even a wrap (my personal favorite is breaded chicken, with onions, lettuce, tomato, pesto mayonnaise, on a spinach wrap, thrown on a grill!. it depends, but mathematically, your "small" meal should be a little less than half!.

I still dont know what you mean by "when people say eat 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism going!.!.!?"Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say things like a bagel w/ lite cream cheese and a yogurt, or a couple servings of veggies or fruits, I wouldn't do too much meat during the course of the day, just at lunch or dinner!. Really, you need to have something every two hours!. Here would be an example of what I do:

Breakfast 6:30am - bagel and cream cheese
8:30 am - yogurt
10:30am - banana
12:30pm - lunch - a turkey sandwich, some cottage cheese, an apple
2:30pm - granola bar
4:30 pm - muffin (i always make my kids an afternoon snack for when they get home, it's almost alway muffins of some sort)
6:30pm - dinner - baked chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes w/gravy, a roll
8:30pm - some grapes

It sounds like a lot, but I'm not saying to eat big amounts of any of these things!.

Anything that is satisfying, but is relatively low in calories!. A small salad with low-fat dressing!. Two slices of toast with peanut butter on them!. A few cups of raspberry sherbet!. You want to eat foods that you like, but not in large portions all at once is the basic rule of thumb here!. Losing weight is hard, but it does not need to be so very complicated!. Learn what works for you personally, and find an activity that you enjoy that will raise your heart rate even if it is just dancing alone to your favorite music for 20 minutes!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Six small meals means just enough food to stave off the hunger for a while, but you're not supposed to feel full before you're done eating!.

Melon or mango wrapped in prosciutto and some whole grain crackers; or a bowl of oatmeal filled with apple chunks, raisins, and nuts; cottage cheese on a fruit salad; raw veggies with cheese and crackers!.

I believe they mean either high protein and/or low calorie meals such as oatmeal for breakfast, apple and slice of cheese for snack, smart ones meal for lunch, granola bar for snack and a cup of soup and crackers for dinner!. Snacks should be about 100 calories, meals can be around 300!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're on a 1200 calorie a day diet, then you would eat 200 calories at a time 6 times a day!.
Examples:
1 egg and 1 toast
1 apple and 1oz cheese
1 baked potato and 1t!. butter
2oz meat is 200 calories
2C!. salad with 1T!. dressing and 8oz milk
1C light yogurt and 1/4C granolaWww@Answer-Health@Com

6 small meals would be waaayy too much food for me!. A meal consists of veggies, meat and some carbs!. So even a tablespoon full of each 6 times a day would be too much!. Now if you would consider an apple or a carrot stick a meal that would be different!. I snack on those in between meals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Breakfast-Toast and fruit
mid morning-Yogurt and half a turkey sandwich
Lunch-Salad and crackers
mid afternoon- raw veg and nuts
Dinner-fish and rice
evening snack- frozen yogurt and fruit
keeping in mind the portions are smallWww@Answer-Health@Com

They basically just mean 6 meals that are half the size of normal meals!. The idea is to space your food out more throughout the day!. So just cut your portion sizes in half, but eat twice as often!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
