Question: Rice in the morning, rice at noon, rice at the evening!.!.!. is it still healthy!?
I'm asian, so I've no choice but to eat rice at EVERY meal!. But rice is high in sugar right!? My family has a history of diabetes , so I'm worried!.!.!.

And also, am I eating too much carbo!?

Or because of our genetic make-up as an Asian, we're different!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Rice is a good healthy food and is mostly complex carbohydrates which eventually break down to form glucose!. The sugar content (sucrose) in rice is very low unless it is highly processed rice that contains added sugar (sucrose)!.

The problem with rice is that it is mostly incomplete protein as it is low in the essential amino acid lysine!. If you combine rice with beans, peas, lentils or nuts (low in the essential amino acid methionine) then you get complete protein and this combining is known as protein complementing!.

Perhaps one of the reasons why Asians in general are somewhat short is due to a protein deficiency during the growing years!. A protein deficiency during the growing years can stunt growth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am Asian, too, and I don't eat rice at every meal!. If you enjoy rice, how about switch from white rice to brown rice!? If all you eat for 3 meals a day is rice, then it isn't healthy since your body needs other nutrients as well!. It also depends on how much rice you eat at each meal, a cup of rice with plenty of vegetable and protein should be healthy!.

How about if you eat cereal, oatmeal or toast (whole grain) for breakfast!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are many types of carbohydrates!. Those that are found in rice are beneficial and are low on the glycemic index!. These will not raise your overall blood glucose amount or contribute to diabetes!. Rice is very nutritious for anyone of any descent!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am sure that you can make other food choices besides rice!. Your body needs nutrients from a variety of foods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
