the reason people gain weight from being anorexic is they dont eat, and then the moment they DO eat, they gain on pounds because the body goes into starvation mode and stores the consumed food as fat because your starving yourself!.

First of all, your body can't turn muscle into fat!. That's physically impossible!. Muscle is made from embryonic germ cells and fat is made of adipocytes!. Turning muscle into fat is like turning broccoli into ice cream!.

Secondly, when you starve yourself, your body goes into a hibernation mode!. It will burn less calories because it is storing up energy!. However, you will still burn calories because it takes energy to walk, breathe, talk, etc!.

Once you are aware of how many calories you are taking in, then you can adjust that amount!. If you took in 500 less calories per day, that would equate to 3500 less per week!. That could be your 1 pound of weight loss! If you were to add, say, 30 minutes of brisk walking into your daily routine, you could lose more weight!. If you do not meet your bodies nutritional needs, your body goes into a state of catabolism, meaning your body begins to essentially consume fat, muscle and eventually your internal organs as your body begins to shut down!.

Technically it is not true that you don't lose weight when you starve yourself- you will lose substantial weight, however it will be accompanied by dire consequences on your body!. its very difficult to stick to starving yourself, good luck with that one!. but you deffo lose weight if successful!.
ask yourself are you really sticking to your diets though, or cheating without realising!. if you eat 1500 cals a day and lower your fat intake, and exercise even a little, you would definitely lose at least 5lb in a month, doesn't really sound like much, but its better to lose it slowly as it stays off, and once you start losing, it inspires you to keep up the good work!.

Of course you can lose weight if you starve yourself but here's the problem!.!.!.once you ruin your metabolism, your weight loss slows down and your metabolism becomes sluggish!. Then, once you start eating again, you gain the weight back very quickly!. Then, the next time you diet, your metabolism is shot and it's harder to lose weight!. It's like a vicious cycle!

Healthy eating does work but if it didn't work for you, perhaps you were too deprived and couldn't stick with it!. Why don't you try something less drastic and less stressful!? Here's a suggestion:

Cut out junk food and eat about 3/4 of your normal portions!. Don't eat anything after dinner at night!. Never have dessert more than once a week!. If cutting out junk food is too drastic, then cut it out Monday through Friday and allow yourself one treat on Saturday and one on Sunday!. When given a choice about food, try to choose the healthier option!. For example, choose whole-grained bread over white; brown rice over white, etc!.

Learn to love water! All sweet drinks (even diet soda) slow weight loss and aren't healthy for you!. Only have them on special occasions!.

Only chew sugarless gum!. Sometimes you just need a flavor in your mouth, but make sure it's sugar-free!.

Substitute whole milk for lesser fat!. Skim milk is very healthy if you like it, but even 2% is better than whole milk!.

The biggest component to fast weight loss is going to be your workout!. You will loose weight but its at the cost of other health issues!. Is being skinny worth losing all muscle you have!? Getting weak bones that will easier break!? Having a heart attack from your heart being deprieved of calories to work!? Being very pale and fatigued from Anemia!? You may become skinny but you sure arent going to be sexy when your teeth are rotting out and your all pale and sickly looking and wheezing for breath everytime you have to walk!. Unless you plan on never eating again try something else!. Anorexia takes a bit to kick in and as soon as your body gets food in it again it holds on to it because it's in survival mode!. Yes its pretty much true!. When your body realizes you didn't feed it, it needs to store something!. So for example, say you skip breakfast and at 10:00 your very hungry your body will take some of the food from the last time you ate and store it!. And that will gain you some pounds!.
