I am doing more cardio and weight training, why did I gain 5 lbs?!

Question: I am doing more cardio and weight training, why did I gain 5 lbs!?
My clothing size is the same and I am not eating more!. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I was not a skinny person to begin with, so the extra weight scares me!. Is there anything I can do to lose weight!? I am female, 41 years old, strength/weight train 2x week and 40 minutes cardio at least 5 days a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The most important thing to keep in mind when exercising is that muscle weighs more than fat!. So although you may be losing body fat, you gain muscle especially since you are doing weight training and this will cause you to gain weight before you lose it!.

To have a better idea if/where you are losing you can take measurements of your body's width!. For example, measure your waist, hips, thighs, neck, and/or bust!. This may help you see body fat loss even when the scale shows a gain from muscle mass!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know that's funny (well, not really actually funny) but I did the same thing!. I was already slightly large to begin with, but after I started going to a gym and working out (even with a trainer) I actually ended up gaining about 10 pounds! I was watching what I ate and exercising well - but I just gained it!.

To be honest, I don't really know why, BUT - after about 1 month, I started loosing it!.

Remember - your food intake is about 70% of your weight loss or gain!. Just stick to your program and you will loose the weight!. Eat small healthy portions every 2 hours and just enjoy your workouts (otherwise you will stop them!)

You will start to see the results, just don't quit!!!!

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the fact that muscle weighs more than fat is exactly why youre gaining weight!. your loosing fat, but that fat is being replaced by muscle, which is why you still look the same and wear the same size!. try changing your diet, NOT by eating less, but by eating healthier!. substitute red meat for chicken or fish, as red meat is more easily turned into muscle mass by the body!. it is probably just that you are building more muscle and yes, muscle weighs more then fat!.!.Pay attention to your SIZE not your WEIGHT!.!.!.
I experienced the same thing many years ago and it was frustrating but when the pants were 2 sizes smaller I didnt care what the scale said cause I know how I felt and looked!
Keep up the hard work! Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can exercise all you want, but you need to be eating healthy!. Also muscle is heavier than fat!. You may look skinny, but have a few extra pounds from fat!. EAT HEALTHY!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could be water weight and deffinitely the muscle weighs more than fat thing!. Chill!. If u keep gaining weight then i'd be worried, but for now just give it another week and see bc u should start losing weight again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because muscle weighs more per square inch then fat!. If you wanna lose weight then you have to eat healthier as well!. Even though the number on the scale is higher tho you still look skinnier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
