Question: Does excercising stump your growth and by how much!?
ive just turned 17 and would like to be a little taller and broader so dont want my growth to be stumped!. ive started lifting weights at home but there not extremely heavy and im not excersing like a body builder will this stump my growth!? also does stump mean il stop growing or what!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Growth is only stunted (not stumped ;)) by improper form!. If you lift safely with good form and a full range of motion, you should be fine!.

Lifting weights will not and does not stunt growth!. There is scientific evidence that proves lifting weights stunts growth!. It's just an old wives tale!. People have been saying that since Bodybuilding became popular in the 1960's!. As soon as they show us some scientific evidence, it can't be proven!. It started because of the growth plate thing and not fusing together!. I started Bodybuilding at 15, I was 5'7", I am now 17 and 5'9"!. Obviously it does not stunt growth!. I am a lot bigger than I was back then!. I gained 35lbs of muscle in a little over a year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Height is determined by genetics - how tall your parents and grandparents were - but nobody can determine in advance how tall you'll be!. There's nothing you can do to alter it, up or down!.

No!. It is a myth!. Look at all the professional basketball players they lifted weights and play basketball and swam!.
You should include some vertical extension exercises as well!. Play basketball, Valley ball, swim
Eat foods high in calcium and good proteins!. Milk fortified with Vitamin D, Spinach!. Eggs are the best proteins!. Don't smoke!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not think exercising stump your growth, exercising is good for your body!. Your body will grow to the right height no matter what you do but it will be better if you ask an exercise trainer!. You can go to Baily's or to some gym where they know better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Uh no!. Exercise will not stop your growth in anyway!. Growth is all about genetics - but if you want to help yourself, just make sure you eat a balanced, healthy diet!. Make sure you feed yourself the nutrients you need for your body to grow!.

Where would you get something like that from!? I'm 6'5 and I exercise all the time!. Depression stumps your growth, worrying, and stress stunts your growth !. If these are some things you experience often then you're probably a shorty!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
