Morning Banana Diet, does it work?!

Question: Morning Banana Diet, does it work!?
I read about this fad diet going on in Japan on Yahoo today!. Basically you eat a banana in the morning along with room temperature water, and then you can eat anything for lunch and dinner, and a 3 o'clock snack is considered okay!. You just have to stop eating before 8 pm and go to sleep before at least midnight!.

One person claimed to have lost 15 pounds on this diet in about 6 weeks!. Do you think that this diet would work (not as a long term thing, but just as short term weight solution!.)

I'm only looking to losing about 15 pounds or so!. What are your opinions!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you would also have to take into consideration what a typical japanese person eats everyday, hence why they would make it okay to eat whatever you want for morning and lunch!. the last that i heard about food in japan, things like mcdonalds and other fast food places still weren't as big as they are here!.

i'm not sure if that is the same now, but from what i know most japanese people make their food at home and there are a ton of vegetables with some meat!.

if the above still applies today, it would make sense how it the diet may work!. also, it is a good idea to go to bed early rather than late anyway!. and everyone knows it's not good to eat late anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No way!. Seriously, if you eat a banana for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and McDonalds for dinner, you will lose no weight!. That is extreme but still, you have to eat a well rounded low cal diet (diet in the sense of what you eat, not restrictive) and that, along with exercise, is the only way you will lose weight!.

There is a book by a woman named Gillian McKeith called "You are What you Eat" and there is also a cookbook to go with that and it actually is not a diet but a lifestyle change!. The side effects of cutting out the crap that she tells you to are (a) better attitude (b) better sex drive (c) no bloating/farting and the best side effect (d) weight loss!. If you eat tons of fruits and veg, there is virtually no possible way for you to eat enough to gain weight!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you happen to be an asian (small with fast metabolisms) then this would be perfect!. The reason this diet can work is becuase the banana swells up in your stomach and the warm water keeps your body out of shock so your digestive system will fuction normally!. Just be sure to only do this 5 days on 1 day off cause bananas have a lot o sugar and you need some protein to keep you system from feeding on your muscles!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I say add a cup of milk and a piece of toast to that banana and water!. You need a whole breakfast!. That is what it is!.You are breaking the fast between night and morning (hince the name breakfast)!.

If you eat a good breakfast in the morning you will feel fuller at lunchtime and may make better choices!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't see how!. You'd be better off eating some other fruit and some oatmeal for breakfast with a scrambled egg!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, you have to eat a good breakfast on any diet or you mess up your body!.

There's no quick and easy way!. If there was, everybody would know about it and use it, and the inventor would be rich!.

Avoid fasts, fad diets, crash diets, diet pills, internet bargains and the like!. They won't help you, and could very well hurt you!.

Weight loss is achieved when you burn more calories than you consume!.!.!. so if you eat less and sit around, you won't lose weight!.

You need a combination of healthy diet and reasonable exercise to stay in shape!.

And there's no such thing as "permanently" You can always gain weight back by tilting the equation the other way!. If you want to keep weight off, you need to keep eating healthy and exercising!.

High protein, low fat, minimal good carbohydrates, and sugar-free liquids to keep you from getting dehydrated!.

There are plenty of good nutrition sites on the web that can help you!.

Good luck!.
