How do I add up caleries per day?!

Question: How do I add up caleries per day!?
I'm trying to watch my calorie intake and keep it around 1400!. I want to lose about 10 pounds!. I'm 37 yrs old and 5'1 and I weigh 128!. I want to get down to about 112-118!. I am petite and before having kids I was about 99-102lbs and wore a size 1!. Now I'm 128 and wear a size 7!.

My question is how do I calculate calories in things like a salad!? There isn't anything on the lettuce that says how many calories per serving!. Does anyone know of web sites where they tell you how much calories are in these types of things like fruit and fresh veggies!?

thanks

also if I am dieting what are some good choices to eat!? I usually have an english muffin with peanut butter for breakfast and I was thinking a small salad with a piece of garlic bread for lunch and for dinner usually a meat/starch and veggie!. I'm not a big snacker!. I usually munch on sunflower seeds or tortilla chips, I go for the salty stuff more than the sweet stuff!.

any other dieting info would be great!. I also am getting an exercise bike somene was selling!.

Hi, okay, let's see!.!.!.first of all, lettuce offers a pittance in calories and I wouldn't even worry about it!. Even Weight Watchers considers it 0 points!. I think I figured out once that a whole head was maybe 30 calories or so!. However, this page offers a calorie counter that you can use for all your foods if you choose:

You asked about some healthy food ideas:
Healthy snacks to eat on the run:

1)Fiber One bars (delicious, especially the chocolate and oats)
2)Kashi TLC Trailmix bars (my personal favorites)
3)Gnu Bars (have 12 grams of fiber in each one!)
4)handful of almonds or walnuts or pistachio nuts (already shelled, of course)
5)an apple cored and quartered and a little bit of peanut butter in a plastic container to dip it in!.
6)grapes, or a box of raisins
7)string cheese or a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, or an ounce of a hard cheese
8)low-fat popcorn in a baggie
9)baby carrots and a little hummus (in a plastic container)
10) a couple of those "Ones Prunes"!. They're delicious!
11)dried fruit
12)whole-grain pretzels
13)whole-grain crackers w/ peanut butter or cheese
14)some cream cheese smeared on luncheon meat and then rolled up like a cigar
15)a piece of dark chocolate

Breakfast ideas:

1) oatmeal and fruit, skim milk
2) eggs (have you seen the recent research that says people who eat 2 eggs each morning lose more weight than those who don't!?) In a hurry, try hard-boiled eggs!.
3) whole-grained cereal, skim milk, fruit
4) yogurt and fruit
5)smoothie made in a blender with ice, skim milk, plain yogurt, banana, frozen berries
http://www!.easy-weightloss-tips!.com/weig!.!.!.
6) whole-grain toast with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or soy butter
7) whole-grain bagel with egg and a slice of 2% cheese
8) protein bar a a glass of skim milk for the days when you're on the run

Lunch or dinner ideas:

Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine frozen dinners are hard to beat!. They can be ready in the microwave in 4 minutes on high (I never follow the package directions) and they really pretty delicious!. Add a piece of fruit or small salad with diet dressing and you're ready to go!

One of my favorite things to eat on a diet is soup!. There's a lot of research out now that says soup is great for losing weight!. I usually make a big pot of vegetable soup on Sunday and separate it into five containers for work!. Add some whole-grain crackers and/or a piece of fruit!. You could add brown rice or beans to the soup to make it even healthier!. The website below has some easy and delicious soup recipes!.

Another thing I'll do is make a big container of bean salad!. I rinse different canned beans (garbanzo, black, kidney, etc!.) and throw them together with cut up celery, carrots, bell peppers, 1 Tablespoon of olive oil and 4 Tablespoons of red wine vinegar!. Toss in some salt, pepper, and garlic powder and let it "marinate" in the fridge for however long you want!. I then take it a cup of it to work each day for a different lunch!. You could add a small salad, fruit, whatever!.!.!.

Eat different combinations of lean protein, whole-grains, and veggies for dinner!. Drink a glass of skim milk with dinner!. Add a piece of fruit for dessert!.

The same website has a section called "Healthy Recipes" and you can find lots of easy, delicious meal ideas there too!. If you look around when you get there, you'll see a page about exercise bikes, weight loss tips, food and exercise logs, motivational ideas, etc!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I need to count my calories as well, I always use www!.calorieking!.com to calculate everything!. You can input the food, and serving size and it gives you all the nutritional information of that particular food!.

I find it very useful :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

check out "sparkpeople"!. its really a great site, its free, and you keep track of your calories daily!.!.!.you will love it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Girl, you don't need to lose a pound! :) I envy you, lol!.

But if you want to check your caloric intake, most foods will have it labeled on the package!. As for salads and fruits and veggies, I found a website called nutritiondata!.com that will give you that kind of info plus you can type in your height, weight, and figure your BMI and it will actually calculate how many calories per day you need to sustain that weight or lose some weight!. It's a really neat site and it show you how to do it all in a healthy way!. But I'd say you look great anyhow! I'd love to be that size!.

I'm 5'5", 161 lbs and I have about 18 more to loose!. I don't shed weight easily!. :(Www@Answer-Health@Com
