it could either be you havent done the workout in a while, or you worked out different muscles during your last workout!

i took a month break, and upon returning my biceps were sore for a full 5 days before i could even work on them again!. frustrating as all hell, but it didnt take long before i could go and work out every second day again!. your muscles just need time to repair!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your workout was more than 20 minutes you tore more than just the muscles!. The inter-collated disks, which aid in the contraction of the muscles, could have been stretched more than normal, in return tearing the muscles beyond repair in two days!. The lactic acid build up is greater than normal, causing you to be stiff and not moving as much, keeping the lactic acid in your muscles!. Your body is not able to repair as fast due to the limited movement!. Probably just out of shape and pushed the muscles too hard!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because when you work a muscle until you get that burn, Lactic Acid fills the muscle which causes your muscle to stiffen and/or shake, and is what makes it sore!. Your body is probably still breaking down the lactic acid!.
I have had a muscle ache for about 1 week after working it out! Www@Answer-Health@Com
