Question: Push through the pain, or rest a day!?
Yesterday I posted a question about losing leg fat and toning my leg muscles!.

Someone suggested a wonderful solution -- 3 10 minute sets a day of squats, lunges, etc!.

I have a disability (fibromyalgia) which -- in addition to many other symptoms -- causes pain of varying degrees all the time!.

Now, yesterday I decided I would start off slowly because of my disability and just do 1 set -- glad I did! My legs were all shaky/on fire!.

Today, they are STILL shaky and my muscles are very sore!. I'm willing to push through the pain and do a set today as well as long as it's beneficial to me!. I just wanted to be sure that I wouldn't be doing more harm than good by exercising when it's so painful!.

After working out its suggested that you let the muscle rebuild itself before working out again!. The pain is because you exercised your muscles and now they are rebuilding stronger!. If you want to do exercises daily you have to switch muscle groups!. For instance, yesterday you did your leg workout, so today you should do arms/chest/ab's instead of pushing your legs to the limits!. This way is more comfortable and helps in the healing process!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You want to start slowly and gradually increase your exercise or workouts!. Be safe and careful!. You may also notice an improvement in the strength in your arms and legs!. Your fitness levels will increase!. Studies have shown that low-impact aerobic exercise reduced pain in people!.

If you have fibromyalgia, try taking a mineral supplement!. The reason you have the pain is that the muscle has trouble relaxing and is contracted often (specially in the shoulders)!. If you're having pain, maybe just do half a set and do some stretching!. Be sure you're warming your muscles up a bit before you begin, cool them down at the end, and always stretch!. In time, the pain will lessen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
