Question: How is this possible!? He loses weight and I gain it!?
I am 21, I'm 5'3" and I currently weigh 165lbs!. My fiance is 23 5'6" and weighs 140lbs!. For the past month I have been on a strict diet the doctor put me on!. I eat toast and fruit for breakfast, a Lean Cuisine for lunch, and a bowl of cereal or lean meat and veggies for dinner!. (I'm starving!) I run about 10 miles a week and do some sit ups and push ups as well!. My fiance on the other hand does little exercise, and has horrible eating habits!. Yesterday he ate a whole large pizza for lunch and came home and ate 1/2 pound of cottage cheese and a bag of pretzels and ice cream for dinner!. If I ate like that I'd weigh 500 lbs! It's not fair! I have to work so hard and he doesn't have to do anything and he's constantly eating in front of me! He thinks I don't need to lose weight but the doctor says I do!. What the deal with my body!?! I was always thin growing up and all of the sudden I gained 50 lbs!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Me and my hubby are the same way!. He does nothing but eat, I do nothing but gain!. He eats more for a snack, then I do all day!. I've decided in my next life, I'm coming back a man!!! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

What I would recomend is just lift weights because the more muscle you have the better your body is able to burn fat just keep to it and believe in yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well if u have thyroid problems that why or taking some kind of steroid medication the doctor put u on!. If ur taking meds actually look at the side effects because many cause weight gain, that could be ur problemWww@Answer-Health@Com

How did you put on 50 pounds!? Was it gradual or sudden!? Did you have a huge change in diet and lifestyle!?

Men tend to metabolize calories faster than women because they have more muscle mass!. Keep working out and you'll lose weight (unless there's a thyroid problem)!.

It sounds like you should be eating more frequently during the day!. If you're starving your body is asking you to feed it and you're hurting your metabolism by not giving it something!. Talk to your doctor about this diet, it doesn't seem right!. Most doctors recommend eating smaller amounts at more frequent intervals (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack, dinner)!. Mine recommended eating something every four hours!. And lay off the lean cuisines, they're packed with sodium which is awful for your blood pressure!. Find a more natural option!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

unfortunately this is another thing in life that women have to deal with, my boyfriend and I are the same way!.!.hes a body builder and college football player and wants to gain weight he eats 4000+ cals a day!.!. along with heavy lifting and MIGHT gain a couple pounds a month
I run about 25 miles a week along with strength training and other cardio and consume 1100-1300 cals a day and I might lose a pound every 3 months!.!. I still don't get it!.!. I came across this website

i found tons of new exercises that i've been doing and i think i'm benefiting from it!.!. you need to constantly change your diet and workouts because your body gets used to consuming the same amount of calories, therefore it will only start to burn as much as you're consuming!.

there is no way you're eating enough to support your exercise!.

unless you're on a specific diet (like no wheat or no sodium due to "you'll die" or something like that, and not just for weight loss reasons) i would suggest you forgo your dr's idea and try something else!.

Maybe you have a thyroid problem!? If you're on birth control, that could have caused the weight gain also!. He could just have really high metabolism and you might not!. I know it sucks, I gained about 30 pounds and have no idea why so i'm still tryin to lose it but also figure out if maybe i could have hypothyroidism!. If you continue to not lose weight, you might want to get your thyroid tested!.
